Anyone playing Crysis2 with 5970 ?

Hey thanks . I have reinstalled different versions of the drivers and am now trying the bundled card drivers. (which are 11.4 variant)

Its not just Crysis2 it seems , also happened in MoH and SHIFT2 .

The games are all via Steam so I suppose I could delete and re-download but not sure that would make any difference ?

No its still happening with the HIS bundled drivers too .... its as if its re-detecting the displays (they go black then return to desktop)

checked event viewer around the time it happened and I can see this entry. The atimpag.sys its referring too though is not the same version as the one it lists in system inforamtion

Is the graphics card seated properly in the pci-express slot?, checked both power cables to the graphics card are connected properly?. Have you reset the Catalyst Control Centre to factory default?.

Incorrectly seated power cables results in PC turning off.

Hey thanks .. The PC is not turning off , just the screens go black and then return but usually the game crashes or is to messed up to play.

I am pretty sure the card and power cables are secure but I will recheck.

I just did a full CCC factory default reset so will see if that makes a diff.

If so , what frame rates are you achieving ? I am playing 1920x1080 and on both Extreme settings and Very High settings it can get laggy ...disappointed with this cards performance.

That's odd. When I was on the 10.4's I think it was fine. Now on a GTX480 and it's more than fine in all games.

One thing I have noticed, since upgrading from my old 5970 to the 6990 things are so, so much smoother (I did not expect this). Even though the 5970 was a good card it did seem to have very low minimum fps at times (contrary to what I posted above - I had not even realised). The reviews say that there isn't much difference between the 5970 and 6990, but I am noticing a big difference in the games I play.
