Disposing of hardcore/bricks/cement/rubble etc

lol are you serious? its a recipe for a blocked drain and an expensive plumber job
If you do it gradually it'll be okay. To increase the rate of disposal you could also mix it into things like yoghurt and generally anything that you eat. I'd recommend using the toilet at work occasionally though because it might overload your home drain.

might overload your areas drain and then if the council trace the rubble back to your house it will end up costing you more than a skip would....

Just hire a skip and get rid of all the crap out of the loft/garage/shed as well.

Personally I'd go with the tried and tested "down the trouserleg" method, may take longer though. Just make sure you vary your route so you don't end up with a trail of rubble leading to your house of the guards may get suspicions!

I had the same problem.. I ended up waiting until I was having my roof replaced and stuck all my rubbish in the skip they had. Probably not much help for you though! :p

I've still got about 20 massive paving slabs to get rid of, was going to stick them on Freecycle like you but as I struggle to move one on my own its going to be a mission getting rid of 20!

Thanks for the helpful replies (I should really have expected the replies which are a waste of time, what was I thinking?) the skip is looking the most probable option. Moving it in rubble bags isn't an option as some of the pieces are pretty big and won't fit in the bags. I can't see anything on the council website to suggest they'd take it away which is a shame.

You can either take it to your local recycling centre (my council dosen't collect rubble) or hire a skip.

Check your local councils website for 'special uplift', ours will come round up to three times a year. You just ring the number, describe roughly what you have and they show up with a truck and collect it.

They usually take most things, I had wardrobes, a carpet, rug, 20 bags of rubble (25kg bags) some venetian blinds and a load of other scrap wood from various projects collected the other week.

lol you are a trolls wet dream. Do you have aspergers by any chance? :p

I am in the same boat as you mate, I went out and got a 1.5 tonne hippo bag, however this was filled after only a few barrow fulls and they want £70 to collect.

A quick post on facebook, and turns out a mate can load 2 tonne at a time for £40 cash...

Maybe try this option?
