Hi there

Used the movie mode on my digital camera and its actually come out quite well. :)

So here is the video:-

For anyone wondering the car has the fabspeed airbox mod to block off the resonator, BMC panel filter added and Porsche PSE is running in the unplugged mode so ALWAYS ON at all speeds. :)

Proper bogged that down on launch didn't you ;)

Nope as was not trying to launch it, that was gently easing the clutch out at 2000rpm and then nailing it once clutch released fully. :)
But there was zero bogging down at all!

Am not into launching cards hard, it normally results in big bills and a new clutch. Getting this car of the mark is so easy either just let the clutch out with no revs and boot it or slip the clutch gently around 2000rpm, its still hitting 60 in what seems well under 5s and is easy to repeat. :)

I've seen people do hard launches and it seems to be a case of just drop the clutch around 4000rpm which gives a nice burnout but very effective launch. Fair enough using this method can result in as low as 4.0s dead which many have accomplished but I'd rather be gentle with the car.

Really..? 4.0sec ? Isn't the book like 4.7sec?

Yes but as nearly anyone will tell you Porsche test there 0-62mph very differently to other manufacturers. Normally along the lines of having a passenger onboard, luggage and they don't slip/dump the clutch at all, basically the Porsche figures are very easy to obtain.

So as soon as you put someone who has no mechanical sympathy and knows how to launch a car hard, they give some pretty rather fantastic times, look at the following image for proof of that:-

Thats what C&D managed, 4.1s to 60mph and 10.2s to 100mph on a stock car.

Many believe also that these cars engines loosen up as the miles are put on and just get quicker and quicker. Plus Porsche state cars running Ceramics and Aerokits are faster again due to weight reduction. :)

Some of the guys on rennlist have seen as low as 3.9s on the drag strip and doing the 1/4 mile in 12.1s, again on S models, so Porsches figures are certainly conservative.

Like I said even when I gently launch the car 60mph comes up so easy, its certainly quicker than the EVO to 60 because of the ease to launch, wheras the EVO was very hard to launch in comparison, but I'd say the EVO was quicker in the mid-range but the Porsche is way quicker towards top-end.

Its like the new Turbo S, I believe Porsche claim circa 3.5s, whereas already 2.8s has been achieved and thats on new cars, as mileage gets put on and the engines loosen up they just get quicker.

There is a saying about Porsche horses, can't remember it but Housey has said it many times. :D

You have to remember that C&D and R&T both factor in a 1ft rollout.

Car sounds nice btw.

Did not know that or what it is, but it is common knowledge that Porsche are conservative with their times and easily achievable.

I think this is what EVO tested:-
