If you don't have an iPhone...

The thing with the samsung version, is it probably has the ability to have its memory expanded with a card, and the ability to change your Mp3's to ringtones\messagetones without the need for a PC\Mac!

Massive massive leaps in function that is.

Also, I find it wierd how apple is suing Samsung... When although the phone does look like the iphone, it also looks like a new version of the F700, which was released prior to the Iphone!!

1st part, well yes you gain some functionality and lose lots of other functionality, so it's swings and roundabouts, it depends what you see as more important, as for the second point see below.

Only thing I find overpriced from Apple are their Macs and Macbooks. Their phones, MP3 players and other devices, Pads, etc. Are priced competitively, and reasonably, especially considering competitions prices.

I do understand the pricing reasons behind mac and macbooks, It's partly down to quality control, specific tested hardware and style. but personally, I'd rather go with PC, and be my own quality control inspector and pick my own style.

I doubt that Apple directly tell Foxconn how to treat employees, obviously Apple are going to use the cheapest possible options for manufacturing, whilst ensuring they are high quality.

Again, its just business.

With the price tag on the iPhone and iPad, I would at least think that some of those profits can go towards some better paid and treated staff at the bottom of the manufacturing ladder.

Windows fanboy: Look Apple charge you £1000 for the same components I can get in this £350 Acer laptop... Wow... One is a cheap piece of junk and the other is designed to last from high quality materials.

Go to your favourite system builders website, input the components that are in a new MacBook. Be amazed that they are the same price with very little deviance. Now run along, my smart little consumer.

You do realise such big companies Nike included actually highlite these problems in the first place, it is them who carry out these audits and if it was for them you wouldn't know about the miss treatment. You really are worse than Magik.

Its up to Foxconn what they pay their staff, not Apple.

With regards to prices, the iPhone and especially the iPad are very well priced, so you're wrong again.

Just because thats the case with the new Macbook, doesnt mean its been the case with the 1000s of models previous. And I have checked before, I dont say things without researching.

The iPhone (the first one) was a huge rip off for what you got on overpriced tariffs. The prices came down a lot after everyone complained how expensive the first was.

So..... you don't like that Apple systems retain more of their market value and don't depreciate as quickly as off the shelf systems?

Would you not buy a car because it retains more of its value over time than another car?

You also have to factor in resale value when comparing prices, a Macbook will sell for a lot more than than generic Acer laptop would, same goes for the iPhone.

Also, you are paying for the excellent customer service, it really is second to none.
