Considering selling the Insignia VXR. What to replace it with?

I never said it was going to be quick but its meeting most of his needs and if he's carrying kids why does he need to be doing 0-60 in 5 seconds, my main point was its not a slow coach being a 2ltr it should still be ok for the average family mobile.

However reading through his first post none of us are going to get what he wants....

Do any of the car's we've listed have xenons and blue tooth?
Most of the suggestions have been for a Mondeo, sure this means something???????

Somethings going to have to give in what he wants. Its pointless us just naming car's that aren't going to fit the bill....

I'd wager it's probably the fear of buying into ubiquity. It's a perfectly valid reason, just not a very good one.

Anyway, OP doesn't seem to like the fact it's lighter than the VXR with worse economy and performance

Ubiquity? He drives a sodding Vaxhuall for **** sake. I don't care if it's a VXR, has a turbocharged engine and 4x4. I wouldn't care if it could out run Concorde and the foglights doubled as missile launchers, its a still Vaxhuall for chirist sake. And not the very, very few vaguly interesting ones either. It's the replacement for the Vectra for Christ sake.

If he was coming from a Porsche, Jaguar, hell, even a BMW I'd half understand, but a Vaxhuall? Its ridiculous.

Why did you expect logic and reason from the guy who, on receipt of an unexpected once in a lifetime windfall he admitted he'd never come close to having again, spent the whole lot on a nearly new Vauxhall against a backdrop of people telling him he'd regret it?
 
Good point.

All things considered, I don't think there's going to be any pleasing him.

We are speccing a normal car for a guy who should never have bought an Insignia in the first place yet has unreasonable expectations of what his budget can buy now he's come crashing down to earth. A £11k 11 year old RS4 is probably the opposite of what he actually needs.

Please stop being negative about these genuine suggestions and helpful advice, it is clear that the OP who has shown in the past a clear determination not to listen to people has turned over a new leaf and now requires decent suggestions.

Get an RX8 or Evo or RS4, but purchase as cheap as possible so you can have some money left over to spend on tax and a service and renewing the AA Gold level warranty.

What about seeing if he can find a salvage Porsche 911, a crashed one might be in budget? Once rebuilt it would be a good shout.
 
Why not purchase a Citroen Xantia from every year of production? This budget would buy a 1993 Citroen Xantia 2.0i VSX, a 1994 Citroen Xantia 1.9 TD SX, a 1995 Citroen Xantia 2.0 Activa Turbo, a 1996 Citroen Xantia V6 Exclusive, a 1997 Citroen Xantia 2.2 TD SX, a 1998 facelift Citroen Xantia 2.0 Activa Turbo, a 1999 facelift Citroen Xantia HDi Exclusive and a 2000 Citroen Xantia 2.0 HDI SX Estate.

You could have a collection!
