yep as they have dropped the "call of duty" title from the MW franchise (it still is cod but known as MW)

The engine has dedicated server support, it was just partially stripped out/disabled in the final branch - infact the game works by running a listen server on one of the players as the host.

Nothing wrong with the engine IMO, aslong as they give the renderer another lick of paint, throw in some more advanced shaders to keep things looking nice, the netcode is excellent, performance is great, runs very smooth and stable overall.

I didn't know the game had support for Dedis built in. I totally agree about the netcode and performance though no game so far comes close to it.

I couldn't care less who develops it as long as these things are left intact and the maps are playable I can't see a problem at all.

Pretty much this for me.

I think I actually offended someone the other night when I said I prefer MW2 to Black ops because of the better maps, a better spawn system and much better hit detection. He couldn't seem to accept the fact that I didn't like Black ops that much so he came up with lots of reasons why I didn't like it all of which were complete crap.

I explained to him that it was the crappy hit detection, spawns and the crappy maps but he still just couldn't seem to understand... I gave up in the end :o

MW2 still plays way way better than Black Ops for me. Getting shot round corners happens far more often in Black Ops.

Agree with these posts.

I find that Black Ops is very inconsistent with how the game plays, whether that's a problem with the netcode or whatever I don't know, but it proves very frustrating at times. I much preferred MW2 even though it had its flaws it was much more fun to play, better maps and much more consistent in terms of hit detection. I think I had racked up twice as much game time on MW2 at this point in the games life compared to Black Ops which says a lot.

I remember that in between all the raging at kills being stolen.

It's good to hear that the game is being built from the MW2 engine, will make it much better to play.

I just need to find out if the tactical knife is back :D

They said they were going to, then nothing :(

Had a good time doing the Spec Ops missions.

I did all except those missions in the plane scrap yard with the Juggernauts. Where you get them coming from behind in the plane fuselage. The other one that caused us much ranting was the estate.

Also I still have no idea how we managed the mission where one of you moves forward while the chopper circles in support against the clock. :D

Lets face it the amount of time and people they have had on MW3 it will be a load of old turd. Cobbled together for the annual 3 billion profit. It will suffer the same issues as the others because they are never moving the series forward. Just adding killstreaks on different maps.

If you're prepared to persevere Snatch & Grab is best done as a speed run solo. You need a bit of luck with the Juggernaut spawn at the start and with the intel spawn location as you really want to zig zag to it to fox the AI.

I do like SpecOps, but it doesn't have the replay value or sales potential of MP maps they probably weren't impressed the playing stats either and once you've learnt the scripts some of missions offer very little challenge.

That's my worry, a team not used to the COD series making a new one in a short time frame.....it could be naff.

I know what you mean that it's getting repetitive now. Call of Duty used to be released sparingly until suddenly, 3 comes out in a space of a couple of years. Maybe it's time to call it quits.

I thought that every new CoD game was released around November-ish each year since 2003?

I'm done with the series personally, Battlefield 3 is gonna cream it.

They've still done **** all to fix the horrible lag and recognition that plagues MW2/Black Ops, can't remember how 4 played now but I bet it still had the killcam delay.
