Sounds like communication is a bit lacking there if your MD reckons this guy is the best thing since sliced bread yet he's simultaneously managed to be the reason staff are quitting their jobs![]()
Is there a defined process for dealing with staff resignations that says you should inform the GM?
Violence solves everything.
No but she was his PA.![]()
I am fuming and need to rant on the internets!
I have just had my MD rip me to shreds for 10 minutes on the phone, ****** and blinding because a member of staff resigned this morning and I did not ring the GM up to tell him.
This is despite the fact they are currently sat together in the same vehicle and I spoke to the MD on the phone after she had resigned and told him.
Apparantly I have "no respect for the GM" and I should have rung him and told him. The GM is "the best thing that has every happened to the company and it's about time everybody gave him the respect he deserves and everybody had best buck their ideas up and start doing that". My excuse that I had told my MD and the GM was sat next to him didn't wash as I should have rung the GM while the member of staff was still there and not waited until they had left.
Unfortunately she did not want to speak to the GM as he was the reason she was leaving.
I just can't win in my job sometimes........
This is true... Dont believe me?
Ask Obama!
Bit harsh to expect him to turn up to work one day to find out his PA resigned a month ago?![]()
Ring your MD do a bit of ****** and blinding yourself. Job done.
Not lowering myself to his level. He called all the managers the c word. Just want out now, enough is enough.

If my employer was cursing me out over the phone they'd be asked once politely to calm down. If they continued I'd hang up. If I wanted to be spoken to like a **** I'd work for Gordon Ramsey.
As if you even entertained that?
