Doubt I'll wear it though :D

So the other day I was travelling via Terminal 5 heathrow and HMV we're doing 3DSs for £150.

Furthermore a variety of online retailers have now droped their prices to £150 also.

It really begs the question in my mind of minds, how much the likes of high street retailers like GAME we're really trying to milk this for all its worth (i.e. around £70 extra ontop of the above price).

If this drops down to £130-140ish I may finally pick one up :)

A couple of high street places have it for £149 as well now. If you really want one, now would be a good time to get one. At present the games out are pretty mediocre, and the new features like Browser and E-store have not been released yet, which is why I think the price has dropped from the £190-£200 it was at most places (without vouchers etc) at release

As the 3DS has no RRP per se, I can see retailers increasing the price back up when the firmware update adds the new online features and if/when a "killer app" (probably a Zelda or Mario game) are released.

But that would be highly unusual. Dong recall there being such a situation where retailers whacked the price back up again.

Obviously the big game I would be looking out for is Zelda... Hmm temptation...

It would definitely be unusual, but then again I can't recall the last time that a Console/Handheld was released that the retailers got to pick the price they sell it for (although I am sure someone will think of an example and prove me wrong!!).

It just seems too early in the consoles lifecycle for it to have dropped in price by 25%, unless a new model is on its way but I doubt we will see revision 2 till 2012 to be honest.

We will wait and see but I would be surprised if the price stayed £150 for long tbh.

I guess the £150 is only on the high street. Checked the usual places online and they all sit at £187+ at present. Any one know a place selling them for £150 in the Newcastle area as I will snap one up today at that price. Walking through the main high street in Newcastle at lunch time I can't say I saw any offers for £150.

I don't think we are allowed to say the names of such high street places, but google it, the price is £149

Googled most places and the usual suspects are all showing it for £165 or there about's today, I wonder if the £149 was just for yesterday and it's been bumped today.

Google harder "3ds 149". It is some shop I have heard of that have loads of branches up north. No idea if the offer is over, you would have to call them to check.

No I googled ;) Found the shop you speak of in all its GG orange goodness, they told me £165 at lunchtime :(

Will try the other one down Benton after work and see if they still have it :)

Not sure if this has been said yet or not, but the eShop is due out June 7th the same date as the E3 press conference, free copy of 3D excite bike/web browser. More to come soon :D

Well free excitebike sounds good to me! They should have had the virtual console ready for release. I hope E3 shows us more of Metal Gear Solid.
