Good Morning All.

I've just finished a week of Revision for my three-hour Intelligent Agents exam today (!) at 1400BST.

i have come to the conclusion that anyone who works in the field of AI or IA technology is not just a mere genius, but a walking god, omniscient in their knowledge of terminology and otherwise irrelevant frippery.
They probably look quite a lot like this:

the IA terminology and syntax is so pedantic, inconsistent, complex and overall "designed by committee" (because it was) that I'm having very very real difficulty remembering it all.

The good news is, even if i get the minimum required to pass the module for the exam-requirement (35%) i'll still endup with a pass for the module as well because I've done relatively well in the coursework.
Overall though, this module has been rather hateful, and the worst thing is, it's almost completely unrelated to the rest of my Degree.

I'm an electrical engineer, and i was going to do a module on Multimedia-technology (the signals and electrical technology behind multimedia devices, as opposed to "media studies"), but it was cancelled by the Uni and i was forced to do this instead.

I'm off to sleep now, please wish me luck everyone :)

Is this ... is this even a thing?

is what even a thing? Intelligent Agents? yes, it's the subject of Artificial intelligence and intelligent Agents, self-contained programs capable of operating autonomously.

and it's hateful. :p

Imagine being at Uni living with a load of computer science nerds learning this crap when the Matrix had just been released....

Saddest days of my life.

It's rare that I don't understand what someone is talking about but also feel compassion for what they're going through.

This, however, is one of those cases.

Good luck man :)

Thanks Man :)

What you have described pretty much sums up my end user experience of many gnu projects and Linux. Blender and gimp may well be very powerful free alternatives to photoshop and 3rd max, but they are Satans armpit in terms of intellectual usability

I recently chose Intelligent Agents as one of my final year modules, actually looking forward to it :)
