A picture paints a thousand words

Hows it looking now? Are you doing some weights to get some definition or were you purely after losing weight?

Yup, im coming on nicely (imo) but im struggling with strength and definition (of any kind) in my chest / pecs.

Ill take another picture or two tonight, but i really need to man up and learn to get some strength in my chest :(

My bi-ceps and tri-ceps have some definition and my calfs (calves) are looking well defined.

Will update later with pics (if im looking ok ;) )

Damn fine work sir!

I congradulate you.

Yet more proof that if you want to make the change you can, you unlike thousands of other masses has decided it's not too much hassle or effort.

Also if you have any problem with stretchmarks, 100% aloe vera gel works wonders.

Yep, thats the one Andy, go for it. It's brilliant, easy to follow, and the self motivation of adding weight each session is a massive help.

Could i also suggest push ups :)

1 set of 20 press ups wide x 2.
1 set of 15 press ups close grip x 2.

If you can complete this everyday.

The 2 sets dont need to be completed together. IE you could do a set when you get home from work, and a set at a certain time you choose.

I use push up bars (cheaps 1s at that) but they are very very effective and help build muscle in the pec, aswell help the tricep develop. I must also state that it may also tone your abs very slightly.

IMO it is a fantastic way to start to shape and build up the pec, so that when you decide what direction of keep fit or weights you wish to choose, you will have some strenght there :)

BTW fantastic results so far, really is very inspiring to see what real mind focus can achieve.

Thanks Reaper,

When you say "wide" would you mean "normal" stance?

If so I try to do 40ish everyday anyway (my limit for one set)

I also have the Reebok bars which just give you that extra height.
Also try and throw in some declines too.

Thanks also for the kind comments, its been a tough but rewarding few months.

Hi,

I would suggest your normal press up position, but just slightly wider, this streches the pec, so when you finish the push up in the bottom position you would feel a stretch from your shoulders (front deltoids) to the middle of your chest, its a very good isolation exercise which means that over time, your pec will grow.

I would say that 40ish everyday without fail, eventually that will get boring, so if you want push the limit slightly, this again will only help.

1 rule though, if you train chest on that day, i would suggest that you miss that day.

The reebok bars will be excellent also, very simular to my nike ones LOL

As you have all ready discovered though, it takes time, so dont expect major results overnight :)

Wow that's amazing mate, well done! The transformation for just 6 months is insane. Now all you need to do is weight lifting and keep your diet to chicken/tuna/salad/vegatables/protein shakes and you'll be hench in no time!
