Agree that it isnt the interior I would have specced but its alright though

That's the correct gearnob btw, its the wood version of the larger sport one.

I do recommend he replaces it with the one you and I have as soon as he can. It's amazing how much better the shift is.

I've got the standard M sport gear knob (is this the same one as you are referring to?), but the plastic on the top of it is starting to come away.

You can pick them up off the bay for about £50 delivered. I even think the new Genuine BMW shop sells them.

The leather on mine is worn quite badly and the clips holding it on are broken so it sometimes comes off in your hand if you make an aggressive shift (which is the last thing you want when you're making an aggressive shift).

Good point well made. Although depending on how close your nearest dealer is, it might be easier to get it delivered.
