Games on RAID1

If I put 2x 320GB drives into RAID1, will it degrade performance of games since it's effectively doubling everything that's being written/read?

In my experience the write speed of RAID1 isn't great because all the writes are verified on both disks. However I would question the need for RAID1 for games drive.

Well my main thinking was simply to copy my music from my 1TB to save the 90GB of space, but I wouldn't like to put my music on a RAID0.

TBH, I may just leave the RAID0 and leave it just for games. If my 1TB gets full of movies, well I'll just spill over onto the Games drive.
