Best place to buy tyres (Cheapy)

Why is everyone so on their high horse about part worns, this is a car that'll be turning up at breakers yards by the dozens, they'll only keep the decent ones or sets, it's not like he's after 22 50 18s that mysteriously end up on a part worn tyre place is it?

Considered cool on the internet to overpay for tyres :)

tyres and brakes, never scrimp :)

even if you are going to sell the car, break it or anything else, your going to burn the tyres up. its a false economy most of the time, and a dangerous one at that.

at breakers you don't know what car it came of, whether is was in some sort of accident which may have caused some unforeseeable damage.

usually the difference is quite small taken over a few hundred or thousand miles compared to the safety and assurance of having unused tyres.

if you have family in the car, you want the best you can go for.

I think your making a mountain out of a molehill, these will be ten a penny and loads to choose, tyres are quite nifty you know internal damage is quite easily seen from bulges when inflated where the wires break and your obviously not going to get any that are perished, out of true, with splits or tears or unevenly worn. you may even find a good quality set for pennies.

Those wheels are bigger than 13inch. id guess 14, maybe 15 at a push so the size quoted above is wrong.

Pretty sure the mk2 clio i had many moons ago with wheel trims was 185/65/14R

sure you could, but i wouldn't risk my wife and daughter on them for the price :)

If you can't afford to buy new tyres, then you should seriously be asking yourself if you can afford to run a vehicle at all...
think thats taking it to the extreme, when most happen to be in a situation where they can't afford, at that specific time to get something sorted then I doubt this would 'seriously' be the question.

They are an un-known.

I have only ever had a blow-out (in my car) once - it was a part worn.

Hence me looking down from my horse.... :D

never had a blowout myself, but a friend of mine did once have one in his micra on the motorway. he was on 4 part worns and a truck pulled out in fron t of him, slammed his breaks and..

POP! SCREECH! BANG!

Thanks guys but i am getting new tyres
And i can afford to have the car but wanted to save a little for other accessories in the car, stereo etc
