OCZ Agility 3 Benchmark Results

Got a new issue that is not quite as annoying as the random freezing. Sometimes when I shutdown the PC, it goes through the whole process, the screen goes blank but the PC doesn't turn off. Anyone else experienced this? Other than that it seems to be running fine now.

am3 benches anyone?

Good mornin overclockers!

New here, just looking for some advice with creating a new budget amd system. The Agillity 3 has just landed and caught my attention so ive been jumping around the internet looking for review/comments and benches. Unfortunatly i cant seem to find any benches on amd boards, particularly low price range sataIII bords, such as:

MSI 870A-G54 - £69

Gigabyte GA-880GMA - £80

has anyone benched these boards yet or have any predictions on how they might perform with agillity3 / vertex3?
how do u guys feel about these 2 boards in general, particularly the 870A-G54 as ive read this board can be a little temperamental although the price is very appealing.

Got 2 more delivered this morning, tested both on there own both DOA. 2 different rigs to check. I tried everything, all BIOS tweaks, AMD & Intel platforms, desktop and a laptop, internal and external.

So i went and pulled a vertex 3 in work and guess what, working.

Thats 3 Agility 3's i've had in a week all DOA. I've made my feelings known to Tony over at OCZ. This is as bad as there REVO drive coming out with extra mods hand soldered on
Sounds similiar to my experience. I ordered 2 initially planning to go RAID 0 but couldn't get 1 to work, so I ordered another to rule out problems other than the drive and the 3rd drive suffers from the 'now you see it now you don't problem'. Different SATA ports/cables makes no difference.

I'm going to have to RMA. What an almightly waste of my time. OCZ might make the fastest drives but what good is that if you can't get them to work?

Had stock in work as OEM drives, 500 all DOA pretty much! Saturday was a boring day. Vertex 3 batch also faulty

Ouch.

I'm sending mine back today, even the one that seems to be working. I just need to decide on replacements now.

I always wondered why people would buy Samsungs and Intels when they were much slower, now I know why. I've had 2 x Samsung SLC drives in RAID 0 since the deal that Gibbo did when he was at the other place and they haven't missed a beat.

Did your 500 units fall out of the plane from a great height?

We've now sold just shy of 300 units and we've had 2 units back as faulty, thats less than 1% failure rate which is exceptional, most SSD drives sit between 1-2% we find.

The Vertex 3's, we've sold well over 500 and the return rate is sitting at 1.5% with it split between faulty and not wanted. :)

So you have been very unlucky as were selling hundreds and seeing nothing out the ordinary with failure rate, they are superb drives.

I work for an old company you once were at and we're a massive stockets of them with sevral stores selling them and using them in our new custom builds.

Yes I know the store, we outsell you on such drives by 10 fold and its odd how you come to our forums saying this yet on your own forums there is no such comment from yourselves or your staff.

Having worked there and knowing they use the same morals as I do myself, if something is of poor quality or does not sell we'd simply not sell it and remove it from sale.

As such we are not seeing issues with either Agility 3 or Vertex 3 and we've been selling the Vertex 3 for weeks now, we were the first UK stockist and are so far tracking with OCZ as their number 1 in the UK for SSD sales based on the new sandforce controller.

If your truly having such issues then I can only assume its a possibility that your OEM was a bad batch of drives.

Were only taking retail version as due to our volumes we get retails for less than OEM pricing and we've not seen anything yet to cause alarm bells. Were more than happy with the drives to the point I'd be happy to place an Agility 3 or Vertex 3 in my own laptop or PC. :)

Don't think you do know the store or the company. I also am not on the forum for the company as i like to keep my work away from my play.

Saturday i personly sold 5 in store, had to place backorder for transport on Monday for 4 others + re-stock.

We've only be able to get OEM, retial is out of stock from OCZ for us, 2 weeks stock is due retial wise.

We took such a big order in due to our new product range allowing custom builds and there being a demand

Jon20 put me off buying an ssd but gibbo has convinced me to buy one hmmm decisions decisions :D

Ha, don't let me put you off buying one. They are awesome when they are working properly, just be aware there is a possibility of one or two issues with them.

Not exactly encouraging words, I'm actually reluctant to reboot the machine I installed mine into in case it doesn't show up when booting again...

Well hopefully most if not all problems will be sorted when OCZ release a firmware update.

just installed it

does it look ok ? in crystal mark it shows bonker results probably bugged ?

Crystal Mark uses incompressible data, ATTO uses compressible data. Since the SSD controller uses on-the-fly compression to speed up data transfers, ATTO will give you the best benchmark results.

Ive got a couple of Crucial RealSSD M4 128GB in a RAID 0 array.
The write speeds seem quite low, is this normal?
