955BE overclocking

£60. About 30 minutes messing about with stable clock and I managed to get this.

Stock = 3.2Ghz.

Any good?

Better, 50 passes of linx :P Which ever you use make you set set the priority to high, they can miss things on normal.

Is that 4.5 just the cpu core of have you also increased the cpu-nb to keep up with that?

Don't fret people, i'm back! :D

It won't go past 4.6 as it crashes after about 5 minutes on Prime95. 4.5 is fine however the temperatures were worrying, it hit 62C within about 30 minutes and hovered between 62-64 which is way too high. Running it at 4.4 now and 1.45 volts and under prime95 it hits 61 tops though when gaming it goes to a maximum of 56-58 and this is BFBC2 which is extremely well optimized for 4 core CPU's.

Well happy with the result, I think that 4.5 would be easily done if this was under water but i'm only using a cheapo Coolermaster Hyper TX3.

Loool 4.5 on a be XD lets get that prime stable and we're laughing, what board are you running that on?

ASRock 890FX Deluxe3

loool, 4.4Ghz is bench stable on my rig with 1.6 volts, no idea about prime stable 4.5Ghz prolly be around the 1.65v maybe even 1.7v, pretty sure temps would be an issue at those stats even under custom water cooling, let alone a TX3 lol

When it was at 4.5 i ran it on 1.5 volts and it was fine apart from the temps on prime95. I could run it on 4.5 but it gets too hot for my liking, why are you using such high volts?

benchmarking mostly, well, all benchmarking lol will wait till i have bulldozer to really find out what my 955's Limits really are lol

I've got an x2 555 prime stable at 4.3GHZ on a hyper tx3 :p

Why are people using such high voltages? :confused:

I've got mine on 1.45 and it's running fine. Does hit 60-61 on prime95 which is high but I literally do that just for stress testing. In real life applications that use the 4 cores to the max (Sony Vegas/BFBC2) it hits 58 on 4.3Ghz.
