I bought a TV from the rain forest.. on 15th of may and decided to send it back. They received it today and said they can not give me a full refund until i send them the plug that it came with. The only problem is i didn't get a plug with it. I ended up useing the plug off of my old samsung tv. It didn't even really occur to me that it didn't come with a plug tbh until they emailed and asked for it.

I've e mailed and said i didn't get a plug (or 4 screws that attach the tv to the stand -_- ) and they have e mailed back and said "ALL tvs come with plugs. Please check for the plug and send it back asap or we can not issue you a refund." I don't have the plug though! Is there anything i can do? I could send back my samsung plug but why should i? I know i will get loads of posts moaning and saying "You should check everything!!! Its your own fault" lol but the fact remains i didnt get one. So how could i send it back? I kept the tv on for about 6-8 hours before packing it back up and sending it back so i didnt even have chance to say to them it was missing. Thanks for your advice :)

This one didnt :( it was the same power cable that the ps2 uses. Most of the tvs i've had have had moulded plugs -_- lol

Just e mailed them back with..

"One of the reasons i was sending back the TV was because of the lack of items that were supposed to be supplied in the box. (screws and power cable) The other was the quality of the item. (under the distance selling regulations) I have no reason to keep a power cable and would be happy to send you it back if i had recived it along with the 4mm screws x4." If they keep on ill ask them to prove that the cable was in the box.

Why? The refund is not dependant on them receiving all the parts back. It is up to them to prove it was not included it in the first place. They MUST refund you the FULL amount. Including postage, packing, and charges. Everything must be repaid in full. No restocking fees etc are allowed to be charged. If they think that you have not taken reasonable care of the item, then they MUST still refund the full amount, and then take you to court for any charges outstanding.

This is non negotiable and MUST happen. If not, see trading standards.

The last 2 items I bought from Amazon (monitors) both came with a kettle lead that is fitted with a 2 pin European plug instead of a proper UK 3 pin one.
Wasn't overly impressed but I've got loads of kettle leads so not a major issue.

Just tell them you'll raise it with your creditcard company? (Am hoping you used a credit card or visa debit card).

Then if they (amazon) still don't sort it out go ahead and do that.
