Black vans for under £3k

I still stand by my origional point. The pcitures of the Evo, in my opinion, still wouldnt be good enough to drum up buisness. Quite simply it doesnt look in the same league as the finish on the MR2 in similiar outdoor shots.

Because he is a hobbyist, not a professional and like most hobbyists, he thinks he is professional grade. The same can be found in any hobby where there is a professional side - another great example is photography, everyone with a DLSR thinks they are a pro photographer now, in reality only a small minority really are.

This is how you run a detailing business...and whether you like it or not Mike, taking decent photos to show off your work is part of it. :)

EDIT: Look above he's brought a WHITE VAN! :p

I've just taken a look at the portfolio on that link and you are 100% spot on. They are the perfect pictures that would get my buisness. (if I ever get a car worthy of it :P)

No it doesn't, and neither is it supposed to, it was merely an example of how reflections differ with colour, light and location. The photos were taken by the owner a week after it was done.

The finish on that MR2 is crap - the holograms are clearly evident in one of the photos. I'd be fuming if someone came to correct my car and left holograms all over it.

Holograms?
I don't see a 3d image?.....

(I am more slagging off my own uneducated ways of not knowing that there is a second meaning...if at all as google isn't telling me anything)

Sure you're not looking at the before photo?

The afters look great to me, better than your civic ones.

Personally I think you want a T220 Connect or something similar <5 years old with no rust or dents in as good condition as you can find.

I would agree with Jez in that an old van looks *****, the pre 2006 Transits just look awful now.

Remember that you will need to take into account VAT unless you are VAT registered (doubt it?).

Do you have a PTG and suitable insurance?

Holograms - that is an after shot.

This is exactly my point - you can get a photo of great reflections without having done a good job - the pick-up I posted was a perfect example of this, too.

Yes I have a PTG, and yes I will have suitable insurance (waiting for A-Plan to get back to me, actually).

I think the "holograms" are actually lens flare in the camera from the reflection of the sun in the incredibly shiny paint actually.

Are we looking at the same pictures? :/

I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt, but coming back after the post and then informing the pictures of the Evo were a week after the detail is a pretty major u-turn. Given how clean the rims are, I also find it rather hard to believe.

**EDIT**

Actually, I see what you mean now when you say hologram, look at the position of the sun in the reflection and how the "hologram" is perfectly in line with it. That is certainly a lense flare.

Notice where the hologram runs all the way up the door and there is also one crossing it as well, far beyond where you'd suffer lens flare.

There is lens flare there as well, but there are holograms too.

Not really, every line that looks even remotely like a hologram origionates directly from the bright spot of the sun as I'm looking at it. To me thats lense flare.

Mike not being funny bud , but do you enjoy all this attention? :p

Nearly 10 pages lol

Of course he does. Its why he posts. A 'spec me a black van' thread from any other user would have died in less than a page. But Mike knew this would spur a big old thread where he could discuss his business plans of being a pro detailer.
