Aghhghghghgh! USA shows ended!

the unit, 4400 and heroes had 4 or 5 seasons and no ending
Now you mention it, I remember Heros went downhill at the time of of the writers strike, which is a bit of a shame.

You would think that the producers would decide to give it an ending however, even if it meant an extra one of episode!

I just watched the last episode of The Mentalist. It has not always been great but i do have a bit of a soft spot for it. The last episode delivered in every way.

Mentalist finale was great, been picked up for another season too. Be nice to see where the characters goes without the targetted drive.

Did anyone see the first (and only) season of Surface?

Quite enjoyed that one, was bummed when it was cancelled. :(

Not literally bummed, but you get what I mean.

You know I hate to say it but all these top really high quality shows I think there just being cut and killed early is just too many factors...

High Cost, especially with scifi/CGI, there the 1st to go !

p2p which is a given !

Recession !

Its like they should launch a tv series on there website and charge people 1 quid to watch it and download it in hd, they should then poll it and say we need over 1 million otherwise we aint making a 2nd one lol, perhaps they can team up with itunes/bbc iplayer and all the other websites...

Something has to give up surely otherwise all were left with is wrestling and big brother and flipping pop bum idol !

It's interesting that you say that, GOM.tv already does that with sports broadcasts, you pay $10 for example to watch an event...

I think something similar could be done with a TV series, maybe have the first half of the series for free then charge $10 or £5 to watch the 2nd half.

Then again, a DVD box set pretty much works like this, albeit with less convenience...

just film two endings is what i want, if it gets cancelled when they have finished filming your buggered, nothing wrong with a one season show if like all stories has a start a middle and a end!

Digital distribution has to be the future; there are a number of shows which started off that way (Sanctuary and Reise) and then got season orders.

I would happily pay for a season pass to watch US TV shows online - as long as they didn't charge stupidly high prices - much like the BBC is going to do with a US version of the iPlayer website soon!

Would definitely pay for more Firefly - just watched Serenity on BD the other day and remembered just how much I miss that lot! :(

thankfully not many of my current favourite shows are on fox.

I watch Blue Bloods (CBS)
Game of Thrones (HBO)
Hawaii Five-0 (CBS)
House MD (fox)

all of which have been renewed for another season.

Can't see House going beyond season 8 however. We've had 155 episodes now and i doubt it will be the same with cuddy gone.

The Event :(

In the past year I've wasted so much time on programs like lie to me, V, the event, Caprica, Human Target and SGU - all of them cancelled without an ending. SGU Is probably my favourite out of those, it started incredibly slow but I gave it a chance and my faith was repaid, as season 2 began to pick up pace. It could have been really good if it carried on. :(

Sci-Fi simply has no place on TV anymore.

so many good Sci;-fi series gone down the loo.

I've lost count how many there have been in the last 2/3 years.

And yes i remember Surface, there was something else on at the time aswell about aliens, kind of a body snatchers type thing but i can't remember the name.

The Event :(

Sci-Fi simply has no place on TV anymore.

Probably because the sci fi audience has migrated to online/digital distrubution services.

The execs behind recent sci fi efforts really need to wise up and figure out that digital stuff is the way forward for niche stuff like sci fi.

Heroes was fantastic to start, but nose dived very quickly. Real shame as some of the characters were brilliant.

Would really love to see / read about future story lines.

As long as they keep Dexter going I don't care
