Black vans for under £3k

Or as I already explained, my own equipment was liquidated as theirs when they went bust. It isn't that hard to comprehend, I'm not sure how you're having so much trouble with it.

It's pretty bloody hard to believe that you had no proof at all to show you owned the equipment.

Was very curious about this so spoke to a bunch of lawyers who rent office space from us as well as the FD of a listed company in this space. It appears that you would have to really mess up in many ways for this to happen.

At least the following would need to be true:

a) You have no formal agreement with the providers of the colo.(With no agreement do they just charge you what the hell they want?)
b) You have no proof of purchase of the items in the colo. (where does this leave your books? Surely these items would go through the books for vat relief which means you have recipts?)
c) You employed a ten year old kid in his bedroom to look after your gear instead of one of the well respected hosts.

Even if he didn't then a well run business would have a. had some resiliancy and b. would have survived the loss of 8k worth of equipment.

It was clearly a badly run business (if it is even a real story) that went under due to bad planning, bad management and total incompetancy. Only in Mikehiow's world could this utter failure be deemed to be an example of previous experience of 'running a successful business'. :D

comprehending is fine, believing, now that's a whole different kettle of fish, see if it were my hosting companies I'd rattle off their names in a heartbeat, if they went bust I'd also have no issue naming and shaming - not sure why you can't?

let's not beat around the bush, what was the hardware? or would you like us to guess, in which I'd say your equipment was a standalone PC in a shared rack with IP on it you valued at 8k.

hmmm surely you can't value the IP on it. Would any IP not be backed up several times to ensure business continuity? If I was a paying client I would be taking mike to the cleaners around now.

A cisco 2950, four custom xp2400s, two dual xeon machines with scsi arrays etc, an xp3500 machine, an raq550, a sun metre and probably a couple bits I've forgotten.

I had no proof of purchase nor was I vat registered. My issue came when my agreement was with one host who went bust when their provider went bust in a nasty way. Those in th hosting industry will remember the big ball of fail that core went in.

Was it CoreISP or Core? You seem to be editing the post. Surely you remember the name of the company who stole 8k off you?

Or did you just google ISPs that went bust a while back and got confused? :D

Was this during the time when you were 'not very good with money' and were on that IOW forum that seemed to hate you? As it was obviously a few years ago.

Mike assures us it was a succesfully run business and a shining example of his business credentials so I doubt he messed up.

Fair comment I guess i should just leave it there then, after all - truth be told I should be working rather than spending any time discrediting mike. Not to mention that this is not my field or anything ;)

I could not remember if it was coreisp or I was just imagining the ISP bit, it was a long time ago. I did not want to be naming the wrong company.

VinceB1 - whoosh?

Nice logo by the way Mike :D. Looks smart but a bit tricky on a van?

He's clearly one of those people that actually start to believe their own lies, they get in so deep that it constantly escalates and they cant back down. Anyway 5 stars from me....

.....snip.......

woosh? - Lost me there.

Looks like a 996 or a 986 in the background... more likely a 986 I would say? spill the beans I am curious now!

Sorry, I mean I think [TW]Fox was being sarcastic.

No idea what car it is, the logo is on his website.

Oh dude I know, my bad.. I was attempting to be as well, something tells me it didn't come across! :(

My money goes on a 986 Boxster.

I generally browse motors a lot, purely because it's an entertaining part of the forum, this is my first post infact.

Although sometimes some posters in here can come across as perhaps a little 'harsh' or like they are just trying to be abusive, it seems that 95% of the time they are genuinely trying to make the person realise that they are actually just being a plonker, and aren't being malicious in any way at all, just trying to help.

Reason I popped in to post is mainly because of that logo; is it really the actual logo? :(

If so, search for a new logo before you get that slapped on a van!
