greetings!
I have been running my q6600 for about a year now, and it has been great for what I want it to do (it is still running great up to this present day).
However there is always something that sticks in the back of my mind; the lifespan of it.
It often idles at about 50*c on the stock frequency (I do not overclock because of how hot it would get) and about 77*c on 100% using prime 95 and core temp.
Could anyone give me a rough estimate in years how long this processor would last me at this heat? the voltage is roughly 1.275v for anyone whom wants to know.
My PC case is a generic case with very poor ventilation and I am unsure about my coolermaster Hyper TX3, I cannot tell if it is any good but so far I have not seen any improvements out of it in comparison to my stock fan.
Should I upgrade my HSF and case to get the CPU to last me say... another 3 years?
Best regards.
