*****Ultimate Football Manager 11*****

Need to start playing this again, but just dont know who to manage, Im thinking Leeds or a team in League 2/BSP for a challenge... Or I could choose random?

depends if you play it for fun or to win.

to win go with leeds, as a fairly big team with decent support, for fun just start a random game.

In game or Real Life do not talk to the press :)

It can be a very annoying side of the game as there seems to be little consistency. Almost annoys as much as the attempts to buy my players at less than market value over and over and over again.

In all honesty I'm playing it like any other game at the moment so it's regular saves and if either I actually do something wrong, or something utterly bizarre happens its reload and try again to work out what is going on and how to avoid it next time.

I've not had to do that in the last 10 games or so though so I'm finally getting to grips with it. Also the team are playing well, I've finally got Rooney to bang a few goals in and everyone seems happy. I've taken over the press conferences though as I'm sick of seeing "xxxxxx yyyy wants to do the man seks with Phelan for his comments in the press conference"

Phelan is still doing the team talks though.

Ultimately i'd love to take a team from the lowest division to the top like I used to in Premier Manager 2 back inn the day. PM2 was so much simpler though that it was actually possible to go from Conference to European cup in 5-6 years which obviously doesn't happen with FM.

Sounds like the best thing to do is start with a team that's sort of ready for you to get to grips with the game, then attempt a smaller rep team (L2 is a good start) as the lower leagues are a very different prospect to the npc/prem (aims targets and everything else).

It took me 10 seasons to get Burton to the top of the prem/start the champions league so id expect at least that (if not a few more) to get the next few levels down (non-league is painful)

well for those who are interested i've now managed to get queens park up to the SPL 2016/17 season ended the season finishing 8th chairmans going mental as i'm well over my wagebudget budget is 10k/week i'm spending 17k but end of may i've got a few contracts i wont be renewing so that will be down to 11-12k /week

but i really must need my head looked at Lazio have just approached me and offered me the chance to manage in Serie A but i knocked them back.

i fancy trying to gub the old firm and win the SPL within another 3 seasons :)

i've certainly got the stadium to compete with the big 2 now i just need to build the support and the playing squad up average attendance at Hampden this season has been just a smidge over 8000 i've a bank balance of 350k although i've made a 750k profit this season(cost me 2 million to install under soil heating to get into the spl which crippled my finances )

BUT things do look rosy moving into the 2017-18 season, ive got a few of my better players tied up for another few years Queens CVA which is costing them 65k/week expires in 2021 and we're due a new shirt sponsor next season
i reckon 3 years i'll be chasing champions league glory

grr i hope the lazy coders at SI burn in hell

my chairman just accepted an offer on my epic german striker and sold him from under me,

next thing i know the board are dissapointed at the player being sold WTF?

How much time has it taken to get Queens Park to the SPL!?!?!?! That's impressive.

The chairman thing is painful, happens to me a few times when your building the rep of the team (once your on top its much better to hold on to the good players).

The board being disappointed is a reflection of the fans view opposed to their view (its badly written, same as the pen decision thing in the post match report of the ref always being the wrong way round for some reason) but the fans always assume its your decision opposed to the boards :( (iv lost one or two good players in the first prem season but since then iv been lucky)

For stuff like that, always do an asking price. If you leave it unspecified, your Board may accept offers, + other teams won't offer much cash.

I got Sanogo at an asking price of 60-70M, and I get offers for 38M. He is valued at 7.5 :D When it was unspecified, max I got was 15M

Its exactly this kind of crazy that really annoys me in FM. See my post a bit further up about Hernandez not liking being told well done after scoring a hatrick.

I have actually started adding minimum fee clauses to players to try and keep people away. Nani is on 40mill and Evra 20 mill at the moment. I'll continue adding them in future just to keep interest away.

Min fee release clauses are a pain though, iv got Asenjo on a free but every contract has demanded 10m which teams have wanted to pay every transfer window (been terrified that someone will activate it). Iv pushed him to 15m but the best way round is just specify a stupidly over the top price to get top dollar for players that shouldn't command that price. (Sanango is not a 50m player despite what FM pays for him)

that spl title will be mine inside 3 years

He scored around 75 goals in 3 seasons for me :P

So far so good with Blackpool, won first PL match, 3-0 AWAY at Blackburn, then beat Man City 2-1 at home, 3-3 away to Tottenham, lost 4-3 to west Ham in the Carling Cup.

Got a bloke called Sergio Santana for 1M, great striker for me, got Geal Sanz as a backup centre back, Petar Zanev as left back, Rafeal on loan for right back, Sebastion Viera for 500K in net.

Any suggestions for a decent AMR? Kuyt/Maxi whilst Kuyt is good and doing okay for me he is knocking on and Maxi is just so so, Also if people are after a good left back look at Alex Sandro been a good signing for me cost about £10 for me to sign him (Playing as liverpool)
