£20 - my renewal form came through this week, for a renewal due in July. One good bit: if you've had a new/renewed passport in the last five years you can do the whole thing online and they use that photo.
You need to update the photo once every ten years.
If you order a replacement/change address etc. in the interim you still have to update it when the photo is ten years old - not ten years from when the photocard is issued.
It's complete BS about having to redo a test if you don't update within 2 years though - your actual entitlement to drive can be valid even if your photocard has expired - but if you were in a position where you have to produce proof of your cover then your photocard would have to be in date.
If your photo has expired just renew it, and you'll have the same entitlement but with a photocard valid for another 10 years. £2 a year is nothing really compared to the other costs of motoring.
