he must be absolutely kicking himself. Its like something out of hollywood. Last bend, the finish line and an Indy 500 win on his first attempt in sight ... and he makes a rookie error and puts it in the wall.

he's appealing, arguing that the caution flag would have come out the moment he crashed. Technically once the caution flag is out the result is frozen and Wheldon wasn't allowed to pass.(apparently lol !)

We'll see how this pans out.
