As long as server admins can decide how many of each class can exist I don't care tbh. When playing on a public server and all your team mates are camping (and not doing a very good job) is mighty annoying. So many times in BC2 if felt like I was alone in the persuit of objectives :(

Any word on player numbers recently? Are we going to see 64 man servers again?

people who complain about sniper rifles just come across as whiny little children.

Snipers have just as much right to be in the game as any other form of infantry.

But "OMG they are so powerful, they need to be removed." Just like the idiots who ran counter strike servers and then banned half the available weapons because they didn't like it when they got killed by them (Sig 552 Commando, AWP, Para, Scout etc...)

Theres a point though when half the damn team are stuck up on the hills with their thumbs in their asses for 99% of the round "sniping".

I suspect the MP in this game is not going to go down particularly well with the hardcore BF2 fans hence the massive focus on SP campaign so far.

I don't get why people are saying this. Its the first "proper" bf game to have a sp campaign so obviously emphasis is going to be put on it. We all know its gonna have a good multiplayer component, it just seems that people want to know and see everything about the game right now with 6 months left till release. Then it would just be a whingeathong till it was released, and god help them if it got delayed in any way.

What a waste. How can you pay full whack for a game and only play a part of it and not even the part thats probably had the most attention paid to it.
I will, as with all the other MP games with SP (or visa versa if you wish) I own, play through the single player campaign first then dive into MP.

oh shut up, BF2 had a single player mode, played it for............10 seconds???? I then proceeded to play the Multiplayer and played hundreds of hours on it, is that a waste?

That's different, the BF2 single player wasn't really a story! It was merely multiplayer with bots.

Honestly there are people out there that buy these types of game for the single player? I bloody hope they have spent as much time on the MP version as that's where people will put the most hours in.

You are correct! in ARMA2:CO they dont, they carry what they are meant to carry and thats it.

ARMA 2 is a military simulator, Battlefield is not.

All we need is a Battlefield 2 with today's graphics. Few tweaks then and there and we have another epic game. None of this half bothered Call of Duty nonsense. I hope the Battlefield 3 developers have listened to the community and I do think the commander option is going to be implemented! Fingers crossed.

No, that would be the same game with a few changes. Hardly worth a 6 year wait just to get new graphics. Im glad its not just a remake as it lets them take a fresh perspective to it rather than just rehashing the same game a few years later.

Yes they have confirmed there will 64 players for the pc version. :)

I didnt buy BC2 FOR the SP but I did play it as I'd have thought I had wasted my money otherwise. Why refuse to play part of a game? That is more dumb. I spent hours and hours playing MP on BC2 and BF2 but if a game ships with an actual story SP campaign (not the bot BF2 SP) then you are fool not to play it.

Luck plays a much greater factor in long range sniping as you're reliant on your target continuing to run into your bullet. It's a joint effort. Not to mention all the other variables that are impossible to judge with consistent accuracy - again, chance rears it's head. Rambo sniping is pure reactions, aiming, and awareness - it takes the chance out of the equation. You can try and batter me with logic all you want, but too much time spent sniping in various games says you're wrong :p

Regardless, 9/10 snipers who sit at the back of the map would be more use to their team running towards the enemy shooting their guns randomly in the air - then at least they may act as a distraction. It baffles me why EA have made this choice as the sniping was one of the things BC2 got right.

Luck plays its part in everything. Long range sniping is still reactions, aiming and awareness, just in different measures. Predicting the enemies movement should be logical, not lucky. Any good player has intricate knowledge of a map, and a good long range sniper will know from a players behaviour where they are heading. Weirdly its noobs that are hardest to hit, they don't run for cover or to objectives.. they make no sense!

I completely agree on your second point though. A lot of players don't understand the basics of effective sniping. It's that 1/10 sniper though that can keep players off of a flag or take out a pilot.

If i know theres a sniper about i do the trdaitonal method, zig-zag about making it harder for them to hit me, sometimes making it larger and smaller to make it a bit more unpredictable.

wow can't believe some of you are going to skip the sp in bf3,ok yes its all about the mp but it reminds me of the cod heads who skipped the sp in cod, which i found was very good.
The first thing i will be trying out is the sp in bf3 to get a feel of the game:confused:

You always get these type of people, who just decide not to play half of their game on some weird principle. I guess its their loss, but it seems a bit closed minded and stupid to me.
