Dirt 3 now on Steam

I am a little worried that I won't see it in all of its Glory due to m gfx card not being DX11 (4870x2)
Should I consider a PS3 or Xbox format instead?

I don't have this game, however there is a video showing a side by side comparison of DX9 vs DX11 and there is literally 0.0001% of a difference.

I do like the mistakes that the AI seem to like making in the game so far. Uploaded this from in-game of a near-miss in a season 2 race:

I was hoping uploads would be in HD but I guess that would takes ages and punnish the servers.

just record with fraps upload whole race with decent connection it will take about 5-10 mins

Just wanted to try the in-game uploader really. My internet is rubbish anyway, a three minute HD video uploaded in ten minutes? If only, more like 90 minutes, if I'm really lucky :( :o

Hey guys, was just wondering if my graphics card is dying or not, as I had catalyst 11.5b drivers installed (for DiRT 3) and after playing the game for around 30-40 mins, I got the infamous grey screen of death (with the green lines) and another time I got massive artifacting (mainly vertexes extending everywhere of different colours, not spots) and corruption in the game, and then on the desktop afterwards! Also had VPU recover kick in one time as well.

I went back to cat 11.5 and playing for a few hours it's been fine.

Has anyone else experienced similar on a radeon (mine is VTX HD 5870)? I have a feeling the card is dying, as I've had GSOD in GTAIV in the past, but this is the first time I've seen random corruption on screen. Going to keep an eye on it, hoping it's just the drivers!

I was really looking forward to this game after really enjoying 1 & 2. IHave to say playing the game bonnet view I think dirt 2 is better.

My thoughts on the actual game itself are really good!

I thought I'd dislike the non-rally events, but the buggies and trucks are much more fun in the new environments, and the gymkhana events are actually quite enjoyable. Now just need to platinum them all! Remind me of the fun bits out of gran turismo.

The car handling is better than DiRT 2, more realistic and the difference between each vehicle is more pronounced. RWD cars feel like RWD etc. The graphics are better than DiRT 2 as well, by a small, but definite margin. Weather effects and snow (finally!) are very welcome additions, so are the variety of cars. They should have ported the tracks from DiRT (including pikes peak) and even DiRT 2 into this game for more value, even if they're not the same detail, it'd give a lot more depth to the game and a lot more reason to come back to it. Just my thoughts, but there's just as much to keep me playing here as there was in DiRT 2.

see what the modders do . with the right mods this could be awesome .
