and, this is possible in mumble - you can choose to use an output other then the default (ie, headset if speakers are default) for voice chat) :)

What does mumble do that Skype doesn't>?

Depends how you are wanting to use it. Skype is more for small groups and will impact the pcs processing power. Mumble is server based and allows people to join in at any point - rather than having to have someone accept or agree a time to link.

The League of Legends thread also hosts a mumble server - generally we have around 15-30 people on at any time - Skype would struggle a tad :)

Vent/Mumble/TS3/skype use what you want or like or have to; never understood why people think one is better than the other, they all have their purpose and essentially let people talk. Most of them have the simple ability to connect to a server, choose PTT or always on/mic detect. Bam. Go. Play games. Talk.

I use what other groups use, I don't pick one and stand by it like a fanboy.

Skype is great for small groups as tals said, I always use it with rl friends/groups of 4-6 when we play games, it's just nicer not having to PTT or fiddle with mic detection levels, but it sucks when you want to play with 70 people obviously.
