Assassins Creed / Assassins Creed II

Finished all 3 Games: liked third and 2nd more (probably because same character and story continues and in each part something different). First one is Separate, but worth playing imo as all parts are kinda connected. Plus I've heard that in part 4, will be characters from part 1 and 2.

Hated the first coz of the repetitive side play missions you had to do to get to the story driven content.

However, after seeing the 2nd on my bro's ps3, I was very impressed and played until I acheived 100% full sync.

Brotherhood is just as good, if not better even though it's just one city.

My only gripe is that they are all console ports. I want pretty graphics :(

Is Brotherhood any good? Does it continue on from the 2nd game?

Pretty graphics? AC2 looks pretty excellent maxed out on my 42" screen. Far better than I have seen it on the Xbox anyway.

I really enjoyed the first and second game.
The first is a bit more repetetive, but had some excellent moments in it, plus it sets up everything for the second game; despite the characters being different (although Altair does make a brief cameo on the second).
Both Altair and Ezio are meant to be in AC3, so definately worth playing to get a feel for them, the backstory etc.

Haven't got round to playing AC:Brotherhood yet.

Whoever says AC2 and BH graphics look bad on PC obviously hasn't maxed them out. Full on with my 580, when synchronising you get some jaw dropping moments. The Romulus challenge whilst it is raining is probably one of my favourite parts of any game for a long while. I absolutely love the whole series! :)

Brotherhood continues directly from AC2, i mean it starts seconds after 2 ends:)

I agree that AC isn't really essential to the story tbh(strange to say for a first in a trilogy)

I loved AC2, but it did get just a little repetitive. I couldn't believe how good ACB was though, i thought it was just going to be an extension of AC2, which it is, but i think that it is a much better game than AC2. MP is a lot of fun as well

First game is terrible, a repetitive mess.

Yeah, just tried to get into it again (never finished the first one as someone deleted my save 2/3rds in the game) and I just can't bring myself to play it over again.

It's terrible compared to ACII and ACB, unfortunately. Even the Xbox Controller had to be remapped to work properly as they seem to screw the controls up.

Loving AC2 at the mo which i picked up in the steam sale. I think i will def be buying Brotherhood when it is nearer a tenner.

Graphics are great but the sad thing is that it could be one the best looking games out if it wasnt for the awful draw distance and pop-in. A powerful PC could easily handle a higher LOD distance and it would make the game really stunning.

Loved AC1 when it came out, although repetative and drags a bit, the storyline kept me going at it.
Liking AC2 even more, seems like they worked hard to improve on the oringinal. Will certainly get ACB when I've done with AC2 and it's hopefully a bit cheaper.

The series just keeps getting better and better, though AC1 is probably still the game that allows you to be the most 'free'. You get to do things your way for the most part while the newer games try to shoehorn you in to assassinating targets the way the developers planned (plus, escaping the authorities keeps getting easier, which is lame).

Altair will be in the next game, Revelations. It should tie up both the Ezio and Altiar stories and show how they relate to each other. Assassin's Creed 1 is likely to be pretty essential to the story going forward.

I honestly can't see any difference between any of the games in terms of repetitiveness, combat is near identical in all of them, and combat is usually repetitive in every game around.

The story is interesting, the enviroments are pretty decent, probably the worst thing about the first game is how long the cutscenes take, the overall story of the first game is good but the cutscenes, many of them, are incredibly dull and long.

Worth playing, you really have to play the first because it sets the story up and the trilogy/whatever they can stretch it too. They are already releasing what appears to be the 3rd game for the second part of the trilogy, it many never actually end :p

Wow so everyone here thinks AC2 etc are way better than AC1?

I've only played the first but I thought it was brilliant. Really enjoyed it, yes it got repeptitive but I loved exploring around the cities - even just climbing teh buildings was fun. Didn't buy AC2 because of the DRM, can anyone confirm has that really been fixed? My internet connection does randomly drop.

Otherwise AC2 sounds great, and still going cheap from amazing online retailers.

+1

The series is getting better and better. Am addicted to AC2 and did not expect to be. Brotherhood will be my next purchase when on sale again.

Completely agree about the draw distance.
