Hey Rob. Definitely have a look around the e-cig forums (first result if you google that), and ukvapers.

I literally switched to vaping entirely, after 10 years of smoking, in two days.

I still have the (now excessively dried-up!) pouch of rolling tobacco that I was smoking at the time sitting right here next to me. Been 9 months now, and I haven't even been tempted to pick the tobacco back up.

I dont mind saying .....it was $159+ shipping which was $22, i think it worked out about £130 ish i know its expensive but i have saved it from zero ciggys

I will do, I've been rolling my own now for around 20 years, before that it was always Capstan, Woodbines, Senior Service or Players Navy Cut @20+ per day.

I'm getting a bit cheesed off with every time I lay down, my throat sounds like it playing 'Auld Lang Syne' by the Scots bagpipe regiment lol.

Ah i have quit smoking for 4+ months now, so has my girlfriend. I Smoked from being 12 to 22 so 10 years. Just woke up one morning and thought i may as well quit, so never touched a fag since! My gf followed 2 days later and as never touched 1 since.

A lot easier than i thought it would be. Only time i thought about a fag was when i was stuck in traffic on M1 ect.
 
I guess i've been pretty lucky (compared to most) when it comes to nicotine addiction. I worked ass backwards though. Started off on the weed, then went on to fags and rollies.

In the last 4 or so years, i've only smoked when drinking beer and if i had any fags left over the next day, i would smoke them and not buy any until i was drinking beer again. I would usually get through about 20-30 fags per week (yes, i drank quite a bit too)

I know for most smokers, this would be a difficult thing to do, but i guess i've never though about smoking unless i've actually got some fags on me.

It's been a week now since having any beer or fags, it feels great and no word of a lie, i've not even once thought about a sparking up a fag or drinking a beer. I'm expecting it to get harder in the coming weeks though. Giving up a lifestyle change which i've done 2-3 time a week for the last 10 years is never gonna be easy.
 
just stopped over the weekend, i can feel i will give up giving up soon so was looking at getting the 901 starter kit, is this a good/bad idea or do i just go straight in and get a good one. Willing to go to around 40 quid.

Really tempted by the dog ends outside....how bad is that!!

Off the bat, I would recommend heading over to Liberty Flights and grabbing the following:

E-cig City Baby Box Mod v2.
14500 Rechargable Batteries + Charger (for use with the mod).
Box of 510 Atomisers.
Either a pack of empty carts, or a drip tip.
A couple of liquids of your choice.

Should all come in circa £40, and gets you off to a fantastic start. The 14500 batteries last ages, so if you get a pack of two and keep 'em charged you can't go wrong. The box mod is a great little piece of kit and an excellent starting point.

If you aren't sure about nicotine strength for liquid, just start off at "High" (either 24mg or 18mg) and go from there.

Having a rethink, as i can pay with paypal and i have some cash in there, around 30, would the 901 be a good point or will i waste my money and upgrade pritty quickly?

I haven't used a 901 myself, but all reports are that they're pretty low on throat hit, but high on flavour. Going from cigarettes to one of those MAY leave you a little disappointed if you're looking for that strong inhale feeling. The 510 is the throat-kicker - slightly diminished flavour but a harder vape.

The "Riva" editions of the 901 and 510 have a much larger battery than the standard ones. The annoyance for me, before I moved to the box mod, was that a normal 510 battery wouldn't last me a full night out. Instead, I would handle 2, switching them in and out of a PCC (Charging Case) but by the end of the night I'd literally be fighting between the two for battery life. The box mod has completely removed that worry.

I hope it works for me, if not, i dont know...im struggling here at the mo, will have to buy some in the morning and await delivery of this sometime in the week.

Hope i made the right choice, if not i guess its not to much to loose and then i just need to be locked up in a room or something for a few weeks lol
 
Good luck man. 8 weeks is sine going, I'm trying my best to go cold turkey, but after 4 days with a few beers abd vodkas down my neck, I've jus succumbed to beautiful nicotine :(

Good choice, IMO. :)

Just remember, for the first couple of days of switching, willpower is required. Not a HUGE amount, though, as you've got a perfect replacement for the physical activity.

After those couple of days, though, you'll begin to realise just how awful cigarettes really taste and smell. There's no looking back from then.

great to know, gotta be better then the 4k chemicals and i read something like 40 or over are carcinogenic or something...how stupid are we to get into this.
