The thing with SP and MP is that SP tends to be completely different to MP, weapons are different etc. Personally I find the whack-a-mole shoot heads behind concrete blockade gameplay to be quite boring and prefer the unpredictibility of MP.

Of course they have to do a decent, cinematic, single player game... I know multiplayer is the main selling point, it is with COD as well, but thats not to say they cant do both.
I just hope that the gameplay isn't dumbed down for the teenage COD generation. I want to be reminded of PC games from 10 years ago.
Honestly there are people out there that buy these types of game for the single player?
With 64 player support online, do you think that we'll need a decent internet connection to make the most of/cope with the data? (I have no idea about this sort of thing).
Why though? The main component people remember and want from having played BF2 is multiplayer. So wouldn't it make sense to use that as a selling point?
I just don't see how BF3 can meet expectations when you consider they're investing a massive amount of time on a SP campaign, and this game has to be ported to Xbox 360 & PS3. Corners will have to be cut somewhere.

I was just about to come into this thread and make a similar comment.
With all the interest BF3 is generating and with how superior it looks (and lets face it, will play) to COD i'm really worried that the game is going to get stormed by a mass of nerd raging COD players who will destroy the game experience. BF won't be perfect but please god don't let the COD generation destory it!![]()

Multiplayer may be a selling point but theyre also putting effort into single player, the sp footage gives peoplea taste of what multiplayer will look like.
Corners don't have to be cut at all. We really don't know how long the game has been in development for and its entirely possible they have a large enough staff to handle the development without half assing things.
And on the point of MP footage, some is coming at e3:

Who's with me?A handful of the press got their first hands-on with the MP component yesterday, and apparently they'll be able to go public with opinions (and screenshots) on Friday OR Monday. Monday is when the MP video will be shown at E3, so it'd be odd releasing it before then, but maybe it'll generate some interest, it wouldnt be the first time the week leading up to E3 had a ton of studios looking to get some extra publicity ahead of E3 (prolly cos most of the focus will be on the big titles, and they'd barely get any attention mixed in with everything else going on i guess).
So all we need to do is squad up and assualt a load of reputable publications until we hit the jackpot.Who's with me?
lol Gerard only been saying there will be mp at e3 for a month
get ready for rage incoming![]()
