Hey,

Just got my Intel 320 160GB SSD up and running, and I am SERIOUSLY impressed :D Love it already!

I have one question though: do I need to install the Intel SSD Toolkit?

I have Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers 10.5.0.1027 installed and everything else is working very well, TRIM enabled, the lot.

Anything else you also think I need to do?

From where did you get the RST drivers.. the latest drivers are 10.1.0.1008.

From here

Regarding your question... I installed it and I'm glad as superfetch was not disabled on it's own... disabled it through Intel SSD Toolbox

Thanks for the info regarding Toolkit.

As for the drivers, they are the ones I downloaded from the Gigabyte website for my motherboard. I couldn't find what I was looking for on the Intel site.

Does it make a difference that my BIOS is set to RAId and not AHCI?

Cause the title of the Intel page is:
AHCI: Intel® Rapid Storage Technology Driver for Intel Desktop Boards

Um, maybe you will need the one for RAID then. Should be around there somewhere, I really hate the Intel download center though :p

Out of interest, the SSD Optimiser says to be used with 34nm SSDs (i.e. G2s), I assume it's not wise to run it on the 320 series?

When I try to install the RAID version it says that a newer one is already installed.

This is because I have the 10.1.0.1008 installed (installed with Intel RST), and the RAID available tot download is 9.6.0.1014.

The AHCI driver is 10.5.0.1027.

Now my BIOS is set to RAID since I have 2 F3s in RAID 0 and a stand alone SSD for windows.

Should I update the driver (AHCI) since my BIOS is set to RAID or is it fine as it is?

Thanks

Maybe just leave it if it's working well. Not an expert on this, so not really the best person to ask. Don't want to mess up your system by recommending something that isn't right. Sorry mate.

I will look at the SSD Optimizer sometime this week.
