*** E3 2011 Thread ***

So there is much longer Zelda Demo that the guys at Gametrailers have seen which was looking good so I suspect there will be more videos etc that will be realeased through the week.

I also think for games like Madden it really will clean up the interface keeping it off screen and on the controller, simple things like that will make things a more true to life experience.

Not trying to troll here, but what are Nintendo thinking? They're releasing a new console mid 2012(If reports are true) that is capable of the same graphics their competitors could do 5 years ago, not to mention that the games shown there will all mostly be available 6-12 months earlier on other consoles.

Not to mention Sony and Microsoft will probably tease/show their new consoles roughly same time this thing launches...

This is how I feel... It doesn't have a unique selling point that would make me want to go out and replace an Xbox 360 or PS3 with it, particularly when Sony and MS will probably release some spoilers for their new consoles this time next year to spoil the Nintendo party.

I'm honestly quite shocked at some of the responses here. Did people honestly expect that Nintendo would be releasing an absolute monster of a console spec-wise?

How would that work, given that they released a console that was essentially 5-year old tech, added motion controls and completely dominated the market making comfortable profit along the way?

I don't see how this isn't going to sell a bucket load.

So yeah...there's Nintendo discounted for me for yet another generation!

Hopefully PC Kinect drivers will be out soon and everything they shown at E3 can be modded!

It's also (looking like) a tablet. People buy the damn things and never actually use them.

This, an inspired move by Nintendo, I only expected it to look as it did, but if you're devolping for crossplatform games then the graphics won't look massively different.

True power will be shown in console exclusive games I suspect, but good to see all the 3rd party title names we can expect on a Nintendo console from now on.

So you now need to use the Wiimote AND the new controller for the WiiU?

Constantly switching between the two. Or have they abandoned the gimmick that is motion gaming?

I'm sorry, I wanted to like this, but it is an absolutley brutal idea.

Not really...you can use them in tandem as shown, what Nintendo have done is allow consumers to keep their Wiimotes and Nunchucks and use them on the new system as controllers also, not exactly a bad thing if you ask me.

Another picture of Nintendo's new controller.
