*** E3 2011 Thread ***

I see a console which has more power than a PS3 and 360 (can graphics really improve drastically when using a 1080p TV?) The PS3 and 360 wont be out for another 3 years so I'm happy with this until I see something better, and by better I dont mean nicer graphics, they look fantastic already playing Crysis 2 on my 360.

The innovative controller looks great to me. It also puts the NGP to shame, imagine playing the next zelda on that thing. I have a 3DS but it never leaves the house so this will do nicely.

agreed we had ours for about 6 months. purchased around 17 games and then sold it. my toaster has more power than the wii

I think you're in the extreme minority with 17 games. Both my sisters (never gamed before) bought a Wii, one game and only get it out at Christmas.

It really doesn't put the NGP to shame. NGP will have better specs, NGP is actually handheld, NGP's screen will probably be of higher res despite it being a lot smaller. NGP's processing power will probably be more than the new Wii U despite it only being a handheld. Also pretty sure the controller can only work when in the same room as the new console as the console is pretty much sending video very quickly to the controller hence no lag. Also NGP = Vita. :p
 
Away from the Wii U, anyone else think Mario 3DS looked amazing you just cannot get that anywhere else. I sound like a fan boy, I'll stop now.
 
I'm not quite sure people understand where I'm coming from.

Do you think Nintendo are bothered if you think it's a gimmick? They're thinking of making the most amount of money that they can. If you buy one, and don't play it after 6 months, I don't think anyone at Nintendo HQ will lose sleep...

Sorry Vita, I don't think Vita will be more powerful, but neither of us will know for a while, knowing Nintendo and how they like to keep specs secret.

I realise the Wii U controller has a limited range. I like in a cottage I think I'll manage.
 
Presumably it doesn't need it (or a camera looking at that either) looking at the way some of the sports titles were working (like the baseball game).

the thing is although i bought it , it was for hte family so they were also buying games for it to really get something out of it. Sadly we did not
 
Initial reports from Twitter say that the Wii-U controller is surprisingly light, ergonomic and the screen is very good.
 
Had a Wii for a year only really got used at xmas and birthdays its now been broken for 6months and is in pieces at my friends and just havent bothered getting it sorted i just dont miss it, I like some of titles it had but it was the same dam titles re-done too many times e.g. Mario etc it needed more support from devs which it didnt get and i dont think Nintendo made enough effort to get their support either.

Well with games like Ghost Recon Online, I can only assume that they've got some sort of network running that has ditched friend codes. May be like the 3DS which has a friend code for the person rather than each game, and requires both parties to add each other.
 
the nintendo guy is on gamtrailers now and they said the game footage they showed for the wii u was xbox 360 and ps3 footage...?

wii u is alos 1080p and the screen is not multi touch

Yes because the system is a year away from launch so Reggie said there was nothing ready yet. I like this bloke on GTTV, he asks good questions. :D

I'm sure this situation is for like millions across the world but everytime a new thing came out, everyone rushed to buy it still., and no doubt it will happen again.

I swear people generally are really easily swayed and hyped up about things like this.
 
No interest in Nintendos rehashing of Mario titles so I doubt I'll be getting this, it looks like another platform to play games that are already out on other platforms.

I have my PC, 360 and PS3 for that. Derp.

Oh and I disliked how they showed the Battlefield 3 PC gameplay as part of their conference. Well Sony did that too.
