It forces people to play differently with regen health you can go chuck norris style and if you get to low hp well np just hide for a few seconds and carry on without regen health people tend to play more cautiously which makes for better tactical games
counter strike doesn't have a auto lunge

nah nothing wrong with it really i watched the garbage stream but logged off when i knew they wernt going to show you **** *** .
i just find it funny that if cod would have done it on here people would have ripped the place down .
they basically had nothing to show you apart from some console freaks and two army gay boys for how many hrs ?
then when they dipped into footage is was repeated footage from upto a month ago rofl
biggest showcase in gaming(of the yr) and what a farce it turned out to be.the simple fact is the time is close they dont want you cancelling your pre orders so why show you anything in detail ? why risk peeing off potential customers before they brought it . thats why you seen 20 secs of mp .

before anyone goes large only game i will definitely be buying between now and christmas is bf3 simply because it will at end of day be better than cods offering.
Battlefield has never been about tactical games.
in BF2 most of the time whoever got commander just used to **** about until they got kicked.
The flyboys would instantly run to the planes, followed by a group of people who then didn't get a plane and would wait on the landing strip for them to respawn.
meanwhile the snipers would go off and find a TV tower or something high to sit in all day waiting for the perfect shot.
If you want proper tactical gameplay, go play Arma.
No commo rose is the deal breaker for me, that and only 4 man squads and all squad member spawning makes this BC3 not BF2. They really have killed off true teamplay elements, may cancel pre-order if all the above is confirmed.
BF games are tactical just not to the same level as Arma that doesn't mean they shouldn't be trying to enhance the BF experience , and great you can point a few negatives about BF2 im sure I could post a few pages worth of things wrong with BC2 but it still doesn't change the fact BF2 was the superior game and guess why that's right tactical gameplay

You had people who had no interest in playing as a team in BF2. They didn't become part of a squad, they didn't want to be commander, and just wanted to do their own thing and go and mess about in planes, sit on a rooftop with a sniper rifle all day etc..
This happened in BF2. So the idea that because of regenerating health BF3 is no longer tactical is absurd. Because those who want to play it tactical, get in a squad and go off and get the objective etc.. will do so. Regenerating health or not.
MW2 was the only game with that feature. And it annoyed the COD gamers as much as everybody else. Everybody was so relieved when Black Ops wasn't as bad. So we gave feedback we wanted it gone, and they reduced it even further to the point it was remove entirely from black ops.

i think what a lot are missing is they want the cod money !
so the game will get a little like cod to try to cash in.
watch that single player tank video basic rip off of cod 4 single player in the plane and you have to kill enemies on field . it even goes black and white the same lol . check some of the sayings in the video

So are knives selectable and is health regenerating?? If there is a health bar/counter surely it can't be regenerating else watching that go back up will start to get annoying in game.
There was never anything wrong with health bars and selectable knives before so why did games start to shy away from them, I don't get it.

Theres a quick knife and a selectable knife.
The bar only goes up when away from the firefight.

Although I would like to know what defines "away from firefight". Proximity to enemires firing? Being within a cone of fire? At what range?

According to this there's no option to spawn on all squadmembers.

Even better. I am looking forward to the beta. Tempting to pre-order for back to karkand, I get the impression that the community will be split somewhat with the BC2 chaps going for the smaller maps (a la Metro) and the BF2 guys just playing the back to karkand packs (something niggling in the back of my mind is telling me that these may be the only true massive 64 player maps, but we shall see)

tbh BF3 at E3 has been a farce.
The 4 hour web stream was the perfect opportunity to get a chatroom going, get a bunch of devs together and play some multiplayer and stream the action live on screen, at the same time as streaming the presenter (exactly the way bioware did with LOTR).
People could then have asked questions like - is there health regen, can you spawn on squad leaders or everybody ? etc.. and got good solid answers.
Or not bother with the stream at all, and just have a proper press conference and full reveal and let the press ask all the questions the way they did with black ops.
Instead all we get is cloak and dagger and "we're not ready to reveal that yet" and conflicting information from different people and half truths.

BF3 has stolen the show this year. VERY far from a farce.

The videos aren't enough.
They've been put there by others.
But we've been left to try and guess whats going on in the MP mode without any clear information. There should have been a proper reveal with all the info clearly available, and without conflicting information coming from half baked interviews.
