Star Wars TOR-Cinematic Intro=totally incredible!!!

Really not sure about BioWare any more, I've completed pretty much everything they've ever produced more than once, spent at least 400 hours between Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2, ****ing awesome games frankly. Can't think of a better one, even BGII & KotOR fall short in my eyes.

Dragon Age 2 really frustrated me - are they using all their key staff to make this? It was terrible in comparsion to Origins.

Cinematics are beyond epic for TOR but gameplay looks....well 'meh' especially for a multi-hundred-million project. I really want to be proved wrong & will probably still buy it somewhere along the road!

Okay, and in the lore were the sith abundant in this time?
It appears from the intro they had been defeated at one stage, driven from their 'homeworld' and now are reclaiming it?

So oddly in the 'longtime' before the fils, technology hasn't changed much, and what we see in the films, down to troopers of the republic, and driods appear identical?
Seems odd.

If only this and Guild Wars 2 had a baby! That would be an immense game :D

I disagree the PC could render this kind of imagery now with a slight loss in fidelity but no-one is going to fund it & target DX11 only 1.5GB VRam as the sales would not be enough to get their money back.

I think everyone gets used to the DX9 std we are trapped in for what seems forever & forgets just how powerful modern PC's can be but nothing is taking advantage of this right now :(

that makes no sense what so ever.

if a pc could run this in real time of course people would invest, you honestly think single dx 11 machine with 1.5gb V ram, is somehow going to cost more than the huge render farms used for cgi?

If you could make a program to run this on a simple home computer like you claim you'd be fantastically rich as every film, tv show and games designer would be buying iot to do their cgi.

So according you to you pixar ILM and al lthe other cgi industries in the world are just ignoring that a simple gpu can do what they spend months on a render farm in a matter of seconds?

Really?

It was funny when the last cinematic trailer came out for it and everyone somehow decided the game was gonna be awesome because of it :p

The CGI is good but the voice acting is terrible and the soundtrack is just Duel of the fates from Episode I

Can't believe it's been 7 years since KOTOR2 :( Do you think we'll ever see a proper single player sequel?

Doubt it tbh. Wouldnt be surprised if TOR was the last we saw of star wars for a while. Hopefully if it's successful they'll be putting a lot of investment into supporting and expanding it, so I'm still holding out hope :).

Jedi's needing a smuggler to outrun the empire, now where've I seen that before? Other than the obvious composition of characters the trailer is very epic. Growing up loving star wars I can't help but get nerd chills watching it, but I can't help but feel the game in general is much like the newest films, great in visuals and "epic" scenes, but general content and gameplay is lacking.

Why is Indiana Jones/Han Solo in this? And I found it funny "I sense a great evil" "oh look it's the Sith Empire, they're back" "Oh no."

It wouldn't be Starwars without that lol.

As for not being sure about Bioware, they're obviously not very fussed about quality content anymore. It's all about appealing to the average gamer for best sales, so their poor minds don't have to think about challenging gameplay that might frustrate them.

I think they're as much responsible for going downhill as EA, afterall they accepted to merge with EA.

Played in the beta and they are aiming to take on WoW
Gfx are bland and gameplay boring, even the cut scenes get annoying very quickly.

...yet still, a 6 min trailer that was more entertaining to watch than all those crappy episode I-III films put together :o
