I'm happy taking front wheel off if needed so that I can post it through the boot space.
Just a 2.2 SE.
Is that your motor?
No its not, this one is mine. Its the very basic 2.2 SE, its kind of a shame it doesnt have the 17" wheels and rear spoiler as they really finish off the look of the car. Unfortunately it just isnt worth enough to justify adding them.
I notice someone commented on their oil use as well, this is a problem I'm having so watch it like a hawk. I'm currently getting through the best part of a liter every 800ish miles. Luckily 5 liters of oil for this motor is only £20 from halfords so its not costing me much to keep it topped up. Even at there standard 145bhp they dont lounge around. 0-60 is done in 8 seconds and they carry on to around 135. I quite like it as a car, I would even say its handling is fairly capable. Its just very dull and has no feel whatsoever. It seems to be able to take corners quicker than my modified Yaris could but you get no real feedback through the steering whilst its doing it so it never inspires the confidence to really press on.

Same problem I had, had my dad and a lot of his friends look at it. Their answer - keep it topped up son and it ill be fine.
And again my biggest gripe, it has no steering feel at all. You feel scared going into some corners as it can just feel so disconnected at times it was almost frightening.
O and it does a tad more than 135 ;)
Jeremy Clarkson doesn't like Vauxhalls, so I don't. To suggest that they're good cars means one of two things:
a) you haven't driven any cars other than Vauxhalls to know what a good car feels like
b) you don't know how to drive like a real motor enthusiast
Jeremy clarkson is an arrogant, celebrity muppet who really knows nothing - he just likes to think he does. Fifth Gear is the way forward for factual reviews, Top Gear is just humerous entertainment.
THe problem in this thread is that there are too many people blirting out opinion as if it were fact.
I like your hypocritical post there.
I think Vauxhaull in general make fairly ok cars, nothing too terrible, but nothing very good either. I reckon for the same price you can get a better car from a different manufacturer in pretty much all of their range.

I love my Astra VXR, but Vauxhall themselves are pains in the arse to deal with when things go wrong.
i have to disagree. the engine bays are normally well laid out with good access to anything that may need doing.
