The new Orange Android phone (San Francisco) £99...but a Question??

Samsung Galaxy S is £230

hmm, it's an option. I think we've got one knocking around at work that I might be able to grab and try out. Also, CM7 support means the TouchWiz interface can go and die in a fire! :-D

Looking around the LG Optimus 7 can be had for around 210 quid, but I need to research Windows Phone 7 a bit more.

Just picked up one of these, seems quite spiffy for the price actually, just one question though before i start modding it, the camera makes lots of clicking noises while it's focusing(which is quite slow actually) is it supposed to sound/act like that or....?

:)

Yes, mine does it too. The camera is probably the worst part about the phone, it's fairly bad in low light, doesn't work if you move even slightly while taking the photo and is slow to focus.

it has a camera? never knew ;) did use a few times tho.. in day light is not THAT BAD every where else.. might as well use an old SE ;D

Thanks JIM, as a side question, i know this may sound complete uber n00bish but im new to the whole unlocking thing, can i use the orange sim and the ten quid of credit and still unlock later to use with a 3 contract sim?

yeah, you can do that no problem. Just make sure Orange put you on the dolphin package or your £10 credit will last about 4 hours due to the data charges!

Mine doesn't click at all?

Infact, my cameras fine really, no its not the best camera, but for a point and click its fine...better yet, if you dont want to it sit there focusing, turn off the focusing =/

There is clicking when its focussing (albeit not very loudly).

Try the barcode scanner, it's constantly trying to focus.

There is clicking when its focussing. If yours doesn't, its broken :p

If there is, it's inaudible unless you are in a stupidly quiet room or its next to your damn ear.

I can hear -5db according to the hospital and I can say that I have not heard my phone 'click' yet :p

EDIT: (YOU NINJA EDITTED!!!!!) ;)

Anyone had any troubles with charging?

Last 2 days I have had my phone charging. I left it on Wednesday night to morning, and it only managed to charge about 10%. Took it out and then charged again for most of the day and still not much charge at all.

Now it has been on since last night again, and only 97%!

What could be wrong?

My charging cable (micro USB) stopped working yesterday. Works fine when plugging a different micro USB cable into the ZTE USB charger though. Seemed strange.
