GTX 480 or GTX 570?

I changed from a 5870 to the gigabyte 480 SE, 480 is 5 + degrees cooler and quieter with the gigabyte cooler.
I have mine overclocked to SOC levels and had no issues what so ever.

A 480 provides marginally more grunt than a 570, and for those of us who picked up the Asus 480 a few weeks ago for £195 - more than £60 less than the cheapest 570, it was a complete no-brainer.

At the same price range I would be tempted by the 570. Most reviews I have read state that the 480 is a bit more powerful, but the 570 is better on power consumption and noise. Whether the difference in RAM will have an effect on games is completely outside my knowledge, but personally I would rather have more RAM than less.

I'd go for Asus480+Zalman VF3000-F cooler which is the same total price as 480SOC. ;) The only issue is warranty due to cooler replacement. But no risk of instability (as per SOC) unless you mess up the cooler fitting.

What temps do you get with the Zalman at idle and gaming/load ?

I've got the 480 SE and I`m wondering if its better than the Gigabyte cooler.

Get a 480 if you want to play games maxed out because when you go sli and crank those resolutions in 3d you will actually not be able to proceed with a 570. There are some games the 570 cannot run maxed that the 480 can simple. Who cares about global warming crank that leccy bill! I work for a power company anyway so I get it half price :P
