Do dogs smell?

Is it about care and 'good maintenance', or do they actually just smell... bad?

imo they just smell bad even if you give them a regular wash with dog shampoo, your house will certainly smell of dog if you buy one.

its also how a lot of second hand cars smell like dogs

All dogs get greasy and dirty over time and have to be washed.
Ours smell of shampoo for at least a week afterwards.

I am going to assume this thread has nothing to do with the 'Digger' thread.

Wet dog smell is a universally known bad smell. All dogs smell of dog, and when they are wet they all smell of wet dog.

I've always thought they smell like the food they eat.

Same with cats.

i think they all smell. Ive been into a few poeples house who keep dogs as pets and the house stinks

They just stink, doesn't matter how clean you keep them, it's just owners get use to the smell.

I have 2, I only feed them the best food, I get them groomed from time to time and I give them a bath every 5 weeks and they still small

Have you had a bad experience with a dog in the past? Why all the hate?

Depends on the dog I think, some houses with a dogs reek, some don't.

cats dont smell but the litter trays do if people dont poop scoop/change them often enough.

aslong as a cat is happy it shouldnt spray its scent around your house

I concur that it all depends on the dog.

It usually works with longer the hair, smellier the dog. Get a couple of whippets.
