Japspeed subaru Stolen 11/06/11

I can sort of see, but its not the first modified car that has been stolen and it won't be the last.

As you're aware, there are plenty of modified cars that aren't immediately replaceable out there. The best you're ever going to get is an agreed value. Of course it won't recoup all of the work and money back, but as anyone around modified cars know, you'll never, ever recoup that money back regardless of if its stolen or sold.

For anyone that's going to those garages, go down in a group of at-least 4.

When knocking on the doors, be sure to be alone. If not they probably won't let you in.

Also carry some sort of a weapon. If you get into the garage that has the Scooby, they might decide to tell you to come in. Once you do, they could lock the doors and then it's over, that's why you shouldn't go alone.

Good luck peeps.

Dear lord....

How is it a stupid comment? You'd expect something worth several tens of thousands of pounds would be insured.

What do you think happens with collectors of classic cars do? Take their million quid plus cars out to shows but don't bother with some form of insurance?

Because with a car like this its not just money, but months of hard work.

EDIT: this really

You have to see where he's coming from though, regardless if it's insured, its not immediately replaceable.

Even if classic car owners lose a car, unless it's something turbo rare, it can be replaced.

A car such as this, there won't be anything like it on the market and as such, it will need to be built from the ground up. Full chassis prep and engine/drivetrain swap, and thats before any of the settings they've used in the R&D phase can be applied.

funny thread, im no vauxhall fan but the amount of hatred towards the marque now is borderline hilarious!

It's a Vauxhaul show, I'm sorry to say this but I'd expect this sort of scum to be present. Unlikely it would be in Ireland so can't do much. Good Luck

I hope John Singleton isn't asked how he managed to film the car on the M25 whilst keeping both hands on the wheel.

I haven't read that he knew it was stolen at the time.

He may have just been filming it because it was unusual/exotic and he spotted it out.

I admit it would have caused alarm if I'd have spotted it due to having no plates, but often these sort of cars are doing promo stunts or winding the coppers up ala "Smoky" Nagata.

I'd have probably googled it when I got home, which is what happened with this guy, by which time it would be too late.

And if they realised anyone was trying to follow them - well they wouldn't be following them for long thats for sure.

An idea of spec for anyone interested:

Japspeed stripped the car back to a bare shell before carrying out a complete transformation, which included fitting a 2.5 litre Cosworth flat-four engine producing around 400bhp. While the car was the only competitive Impreza drift car in Europe - and one of the most distinctive with its eye-catching black and white livery - many custom parts were needed due to the RWD configuration and 2010 proved to be a major development year for Team Japspeed.

At the end of last season owner Paul McCallum and the team set about transforming the Impreza once again and for 2011 Steve Biagioni's car will have a Toyota Soarer 1JZ 2.5 litre 6-cylinder turbocharged engine - the first of its kind anywhere! Team Japspeed is aiming to get 500bhp out of the new engine as it bids to turn the car into one of the fastest competing in the Maxxis British Drift Championship.

Someone put up an ebay ad with photos the orange wheels for sale (source the photos from else where) and see how long it takes for the police to come round.
