The *Official* Eve Online Thread

Just a heads up, might want to avoid installing the latest patch, targetting and approach object randomly latch on and holding down the lock target, approach, etc. keys for more than 2 seconds also latches them on now - which kinda breaks how I play atleast - pretty easy to accidentally shoot someone in empire atm.

Also massive performance issues with the last 2 client updates - the mouse over detection code is spending a lot of CPU cycles when over certain objects and empty space causing varied performance and the CPU working harder than normal = extra heat and noise from case cooling.

Just planned out my mains training plan for the next year, planning to just stick with Cruiser hulls, not really sure what I'll do when that ends. Included training for a Mach. but I'd be so scared to fly a 1bn ISK ship anywhere :P

Reactivated an alt and it's a complete mess, 10m SP with 4m in Drones with Sentry V just about done. But I'm still tempted to train it for a Tengu. Got 2m SP to assign, best idea to just use it to grab Caldari Cruiser V when I can?

Just re-activated my account, honestly can't remember when i last played...4 years ago or something:p Anyway my character was born in 2003;)

So, BS's and stuff all over the place and no idea what to do anymore. Kinda going to see if i get the bug back, i think there are some of my old corp mates that still play etc.

Anyone from Carbide Industries here?

Also, seeing if my iMac is up to the job....:rolleyes:

Possibly as its such a damn useful skill to have. Opens many doors IMO
 
Had one of those 5 free days emails, reactivated, created my character, picked a skill to train, looked at the hanger... and thought meh. I have loads of free time this week I could be playing, but it just doesn't seem to grab me like it used to. I fly an armageddon, with a coercer for grabbing all the loot and salvaging, got 93mil in the bank, and only really spent EVE running missions, my skills are pretty much all tailored to that.

What can I do this week to try and get me back into the game?
 
I'm glad all of my core skills are pretty much 5.

I got shield skills for my covetor and 1.4million in Drones. :/

I must have valued them! :p

Get into PvP.

I had been a EVE player for a few years and was bored ****less with it. Someone on here suggested a corp called Darkness Inc, a high sec pirate corp that flew mainly frigs. I started 2 new characters, joined them up and it was some of the best fun I've ever had. DKI then started to grow, went lowsec and members dropped off, corp is now dead.

But even though its been 2 years, I still miss those days. Get a good bunch of players and some high sec or low sec fun and its great. Plus, you don't get all the blobs like you do in null sec, and none of the politics.

Depends what you like, but feeling the same as you i got into Incursions and really started enjoying myself. They are group PvE loads of fun with a few like minded people.
 
Experienced an incursion last night, however, 5 seconds in a rifter before boom :p

I was deleting that char anyway so wasn't a loss.

On another issue, T3 cruiser, any good for lvl 4s or better sticking to Battleships?

^ This IMO, opens up a whole new level of the game. Join a decent pirate/mercenary/wormhole corp or a good nullsec alliance (i.e. not NC, they sound terrible by all accounts and you'll learn nothing)

AJHarvey - Tengu is meant to be good for L4s, for non-cadari I'd probably stick with BS. I'm Amarr, and I can't see a good reason to go from Nightmare to Legion (on the rare occasion I run a mission).

i guess it depends on which cruiser ill run some missions alongside you in my tengu if you want
 
think my character is a Proteus flyer, seen some lvl 4 fits but I am unsure.

problem is, Domi is in WH and no access all week :( Don't know if its still even there as I've been gone for 8 months.

Go to decide between lvl 4 domi or just T3 :S

We baited some ships out to a belt with a BS, when there was a few hostiles attacking the BS, the BS lit a cyno and I jumped in one carrier. We waited till they brought in some caps to kill my carrier then we Titan bridged in a small fleet. The result can be seen on the video. Didn't know that it was getting frapsed or I would have put on a posh voice and tried to sound cooler :)

Found my first grav site yesterday, first time probing too. Quite a cool system to be honest.

I'm generally mining jaspet in a 0.4 system, had a archon rat come out at me, my T2 hobs took far too long to break its shield so had to warp out. :o

Nice video, trying to get my 2 characters in to low/high sec pvp at the moment, however it seems most corps have a min SP for them.

Doesn't seem to matter they were trained for specific roles, covert ops/stealth bomber and ECM :(

I don't like that. 5 million SP minimum for example, doesn't mean much other than someone may have them scattered everywhere. Quite annoying actually but usually means around 5 months in-game time but still doesn't = a good player.

I have 8 million SP which has the core skills at 5 and the rest drones and industry.

Edit - most incoherent post I've made. :(
