What was the first online multiplayer game you played?

Just got reminded of it, thought it would make a good thread.

Mine was Infantry Online (probably during 2000-01 as they started charging for it in 2002). Spent a lot of time on that game.

Then me and some friends discovered an internet cafe and were introduced to MOHAA, COD, CS 1.3, BF1942 and WC3.

I think it was Delta Force 2 or something like that. The first one I really got into was probably much more recently, Day Of Defeat: Source.

Infantry online was brilliant, used to play that a lot. Pretty much just KR, was my favourite map. I stopped for a bit when they started charging for it as although it was good it wasnt good enough to pay monthly for. I recognise quite a few of the names in that video

My first online game..hmm, not sure, maybe Quake1, maybe Blood.

Counterstrike or Unreal Tournament (although the connection I played UT on was so bad it probably doesnt count).

It was probably Half Life, though I didn't do more than dip my toe in due to being on dial up and the 800ms ping was a killer.
First real stab at it would likely be on the Xbox with Halo 2

It's weird, I don't really remember anything about it.

I remember when Steam first came out. I think the Half Life games were free for all for a bit. Bots in CS 1.6 was great. Shame they got rid of them to make Condition Zero.

Oooh, also, it wasn't a game but I used to go on Active Worlds a lot (can't find any decent videos). Was great how you could create your own home. I think the alternative today is that Playstation 3 thing.

Also, I think it was called, "Air Attack" -- a free arcade-style dogfighter which was run/hosted by Wireplay. Anyone remember that one?

VGA Planets circa 1995, in that a modem was needed to play and more than one player was involved. Quake was my first real time online game.

COD. Still remember going online for the first time and loving it. Ended up in a great clan where once a week we'd have a few drinks while playing and attempt clan matches while drunk. Only won a few like that.
