Another 'Lost' style series?

It was really poor. Let’s ignore everything that’s happened in the past seasons. Explain nothing, jump forward a few 100 years and show everyone meeting up in the afterlife. I am really surprised more people were not outraged at how poor the ending was.

they probably didnt want to admit they just wasted god knows how many hours watching a bunch of series that didnt matter..
everything just went all wrong after series 3 imo

I enjoyed Lost quite a lot if I'm honest. I thought that this video helped with answering a few questions I had though:

Also I am 5 episodes into The Event. It is good.

I also don't like this phrase:
they just wasted god knows how many hours
I don't consider it time wasted. I watch TV for entertainment, not for educational reasons or for any other gains and Lost kept me entertained throughout all of the series's. Therefore all of my TV watching is about wasting time, but, being entertained while doing it.

The Event was interesting for the first few episodes, then it got ridiculously boring and unbelievable for some reason. It wasn't a good show from the start and I advice against watching it since it's been cancelled anyway.

Flashforward, on the other hand, had a very interesting concept and poor execution.

Why am I still so badly gutted to this day that it'd been cancelled, I don't know. All I know is I wish it was renewed for the second season, it had a great cast :(

How long do you think they have lived?

Don't want to spoil the show for those who haven't watched it yet but I assume you misunderstood the ending?

Feel exactly the same mate. Flashforward had so much potential that I even voted for it to be renewed over Heroes. Unfortunately viewing figures saw a gradual decline from month to month - bloody impatient unintelligent viewers! :D

Flashgorward was diabolocally bad. Was actually funny in places where it wasnt meant to be. I still watched it all bit it was pretty bad. Like no ordinary family, interesting concept, buy badly , very badly executed.

No one's mentioned The Walking Dead yet. It's pretty much Lost meets Left 4 Dead.

The first episode alone is worthy of cinematic release.

Mr Krugga said "Don't want to spoil the show for those who haven't watched it yet but I assume you misunderstood the ending? :confused"
Without using names the Number 1 and Number 2 " In the exchange Number 1 tells number 2 that he was a "real good number two," while number 2 replies that Number 1 was a "great number one." In the church the survivors "move on" together."

As we know protectors of the island don't age or die of natural causes. It was a common themes throughout show that Number 1 and number 2 protectors of the island do not age and live for 100's of years.

The end takes place after everyone died in real life and went to purgatory/afterlive/Limbo or what ever you want to call it. No one could move on until the last person died and everyone in the group was together in the afterlife. Since number 1 and number 2 lived for some long time the ending was taken place far in the future.

I guess you can argue times flow differently in limbo, but still the end happens after they all die in real life.

Well I'm still enjoying The Event, it isn't believable but then neither was Lost, also I'm still not finding it boring. If I finish/give up on it you have given me plenty of other shows to think about. The Walking Dead interests me, will go through all of the suggestions at some point.

Fringe is not like Lost imo.

The episodes in season one and two are all pretty random, but somehow get tied together in the last two minutes. Plus there never seems to be a real bad guy. Or at least to get attached to. Saying that. Season three is a lot better!

Did you watch Heroes first time round?! The Pacific and Walking Dead are excellent too... But again, completely different to what you're looking for.

Oh Heroes, I meant to watch that at some point. Has been noted. Anyway The Event just got stupid. I'm giving it another episode.

SPOILER
Just in case anyone is planning on watching it, stop reading.
But yeah, I just got to the part where the womans sister is taken to the room full of girls with wrinkled faces. Also the guy who was like the leader of the aliens from the outside is really starting to annoy me.

Now it's getting really stupid, the old guy can now just change his appearance? I actually see what you mean by it being unbelievable now, I thought you just meant about there being aliens but it is just stupid. Hmmm really don't want to watch any more. Some elements of the story were good so it's a shame.
SPOILER OVER

I think I'll give The Walking Dead a go if this doesn't work out.

I watched The Pacific and thought it was OK, not really my thing. Not sure about Battlestar: Galactica, I will of course, give it a go but I am not sure if it is my cup of tea.

Fringe best show out of all recommendations season 3 as mentioned strays in crazy LOST style at times but still love it.

Id also avoid Flashforward and The Event as imo they both suck
