Don't break the glass thou - might cost you a pretty penny :) I know a few bars in London that serve it in the proper glass and one wanted a 50 quid deposit on it (I told them to shove it and got a pint glass instead :p)

Blimey! You can buy a pack of 4 bottles and the glass for 20 quid in BRU Airport. You can also buy just the bottles of Kwak in Tesco Extras too :) Great beer!

Won 2 premier business tickets to either Paris or Brussels and not sure which one to go to.

I'm not really a big drinker, I like site seeing and museums and stuff I guess. Just looking for a nice place to chill out for a week or so.

What would you recommend and why?

In before - worst I've won 2 premier business class tickets.

Gratz on winning your tickets first of all :D

As others have said if you're not a big drinker and like site seeing / museums then Paris is where I'd be heading.

And this would be my first stop off in Paris

Brussels, if only to meet the Muscles from Brussels.

Plus although I only went through their via the airport en route to Antwerp, the beer in Belgium is nice, although food is weird... but I couldnt read their menu tbh and ended up with some chicken thing I think, im sure it said poulet or something.. but thats another story.

Anyway, Belgium 95%... UNLESS, you are going to drive and then you have to do it Lampoon style and Chevy Chase it around that french roundabout thing.

Having been to both I'd agree that Brussels is pretty dull and lacking in soul. If you're going to be out for a week, definitely Paris.

Don't like beer and love museums then I have to go with Paris. Musée d'Orsay and Louvre worth the trip alone.

After reading the threads you could easily do both as the tgv only takes 1h 20 mins.

Meh all these people saying Paris is better. I hated it sooo much. But I guess everyone has their own preference.

ok maybe not hate that's kind of strong... But I just didnt like it. People I found quite arrogant, prices for beer and food were stupidly expensive for decent stuff anyways.
Mind due I've only been to Paris once so I havn't got the most experience but after my first I don't plan on going back any time soon.

Brussels though I just have an amazing time I've been there 3 times now and loved it every single time. People were always chatty and quite kind. Prices were not that expensive. Plus with Bruge being so close that place is wonderful.

I enjoyed myself in Paris far more on my second trip there when I was with my (at the time) girlfriend, rather than when I was about 17/18 on a college trip.

PS. I recognised The Inception "dream" bridge - do I get a medal?

When I was in Paris in the winter we were walking past that bridge in the evening. I was just about to take a picture when an ambulance (I think) came along and drove down the middle section between the metal pillars. Don't have access to the picture right now though - wasn't very good anyway ;).

Go to Paris, there are more than enough sites to keep you satisfied for a week. Make sure you go to the Dali gallery in Montmartre, everyone I know who has been loved it, and it's a much more managable size than the Louvre, which you would need days upon days to do properly. I was a bit underwhelmed by the Louvre, it was too busy and I felt rushed.

If you're going for a week, you could always just take the train up/down to the other city anyway.

A week is a long time for a city break.
Can you get an open jaw ticket? Out to Brussels, and back via Paris?

But if you are interested in visiting both, your trip to Brussels on the Eurostar is valid to any station within Belgium.
I'd do both as Paris for a week would get tiresome.
