OCZ Agility 3 dropping out/freezing?

Here you go: http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/f...CZ-SandForce-Linux-based-firmware-update-tool

The tool will automatically grab the latest firmware available.

You might need to suspend and then resume to kill the power to the SSD if you get a "Device locked" type error.

Cheers for this.

But you know what; That looks like a load of hassle. I really don't know where to start with this. .tar version? command line? wtf.

I can build a PC. I can install windows, I can install drivers and do a good amount of trouble shooting. However I just do not have the sort of time I used to have to pour over these things.

Is there a blow by blow description/idiots guide/hand holding instructions on how to do this out there?

You really should not have to jump through this many hoops to get something like this working satisfactorily nowadays.

There's a lot of good info on the OCZ forums. To do this under windows you'd need a separate install if the SSD is your boot drive.

I completely agree that all this should not be necessary and that OCZ have really dropped the ball. Hence why I RMA'd mine - I'm not messing around with something that should work first time.

Was your RMA successful? I'm just a bit worried as because the problem happens randomly, they might not find anything wrong with it and charge for false RMA.

ive noticed the price for these drives have creeped down slowly when they 1st came down an no wonder if soo many people are having problems with them, i was thinking of getting 1 but will defo got for the M4 instead. Cant believe these dives have been released which such a high amount of problems puts me off getting other SSD drives in the future.

When they first come out they was doing them on here for £99, the lowest i see them was £86 i think, then back up to £105, now £93, price seems to change daily. Saying that, im sure there is people out there who have had no problems with them. (If you find any, let me know) ;)

Thought it was my' Agility-3' that was at fault. However switched over to my old raptor and started getting the same freezing issue after a few hours.

Have my i7-2500k overclocked on Gigabyte Z68 motherboard to 4.5ghz.

Reduced overclock to 4ghz and problem goes away. Now this is after testing my overclock with prime, etc and is rock sold stable after many hours and good temps.

Everytime I increase overclock to 4.5ghz the 'Agility-3 starts playing up.
