My Pet Birdeating Spider

What kinda job does she have where she NEEDS to have a tarantula?

Takes small animals / exotics around schools :)

EDIT:

So we have all sorts, tree frogs, rats, gerbils, guineas, hermit crabs, giant millepedes and giant snails, and scorpions....all sorts :p

My girlfriend used to do this as well :)

If you have any cheeky little kids you can borrow my spider, that will teach them

Pretty harmless though, The other vineyard hand got bitten by one and just said it made him itchy around the bite.

No they aren't!

Golden Orb Weaver spiders are incredibly dangerous! Back in Zim we'd regularly have to deal with their nests after they'd started eating pets and small children!

Seriously though, out of all the spiders and snakes and scorpions and centipedes and other hateful creatures Southern Africa had to offer, the Golden Orb Weavers were by far the worst!

you know how sometimes kids throw things into spider webs to break them? well you can throw rocks into Golden Orb Weaver-webs and they GET CAUGHT! *shudder*

mates got one of these or something similar. pure and utter evil. he never been able to handle it because it so aggressive. throws spikes at him for fun

dont see any appeal in them whatsoever

Bad one of the bunch then

What is the point in keeping a dog? So it can grovel over you so you can pretend you can be master? ;)

IT EVEN SAID BLOODY SPIDERS IN THE BLOODY TITLE YET I STILL LOOKED!!!!

What is wrong with me :(
:D They are amazing to look at, but I would not like to hold/be near something that size.

I don't see the point in having spiders as pets, it's not as if they do much. If you had a collection of different species or something I could understand, but just one sole spider who just sits there all day waiting for you to feed it just seems pointless.
Yeah I don't get it.
Plus do they even give back anything (like dogs or cats would comfort you if you were sad or whatever)? Just seem to be built for one purpose - natural hunters.

Awww :)

My babies say hi too! :D

Avic Avic:

B Smithi :

A Geniculata:

RCF G.Rosea

NCF G.Rosea (G.Poteri now i think it is)

Teeny Tiny G.Pulcheripes

B.Albopilosum

Avic Versicolor baby, ITS BLUE! :D

Im actually terrified of them, the last one escaped onto my hand and i nearly had a panic attack lol interesting things though, and am slowly getting better, my NCF G Rosea was my first and she is so calm and docile, i can happily nudge her out of her water bowl if needs be, the RCF on the other hand would have my face off :p

I created a thread a few months ago which got filled with exotics :D

The rest of my crew is in my sig ^_^

Nope, my girlfriend goes into shock when she notices a spider in the house...but she has a pet tarantula :)

She should unleash the tarantula on the small spiders :D

The tarantula is nothing like a normal house spider as it is slower :)

Wait wut? I thought tarantulas were really fast as they hunted rather than spinnin gwebs.

I used to be obsessed with tarantulas as a kid but then there was an incident and I became hugely arachnophobic. OcUK has actually made me less scared of spiders :D Infact, today, I had one on my face - I would normally have freaked out - a lot, however, I as able to remain calm :D
