Demons Souls Euro Release

I've successfully beaten the first boss (Phalanx), but have yet to back to the game because I'm afraid of dying and losing my souls due to not knowing what areas to avoid from this point. :p

Where's the best place to go to next?

When you've killed phalanx you can return to the nexus and start spending souls!

Get back there and level up your character at the black sorceress, just touch the waystone that should have appeared in the room where you killed him.

How can I adapt that style of build to make it better for PvE? I just like the idea of having a balance of magic and swords rather than one or the other.

That's another thing. I'm afraid of wasting them. :D

I started as the Royalty class.

Spending on attributes early in game is never a waste, it's once you start getting above 12-16 in certain attributes that you need to start choosing carefully as it can affect a build.

God knows, the builds are so utterly complex i couldn't tell you.

I just used a blueblood sword, fireball and poison cloud. Made mincemeat out of anything i encountered in my first game and NG+. Never tried NG++

Just remember, if you do opt for the blueblood, its damage multiplier is actually luck, not strength or magic like most other swords. So pump points into luck to make it stronger, the side effect of this is that enemies drop more and better loot which is a great help.

As mentioned the Blue Blood build is awesome if done right. I pumped most my stats into the luck, magic and faith. It gave me a good defense against magic and plenty of power when using spells.

The awesome thing with the Blue Blood sword is the insane damage when you enchant it, by the end of my first playthrough I was doing 600+ damage easily to most enemies when enchanted, you can tear even the toughest enemies apart in a few quick swings. I also used poison spells and the odd soul arrow spell to mix it up a bit.

It's good in PvP if you're good at getting close to people, I'd poison people and chase them down as they tried to heal, as soon as you land a hit and deal massive damage most people panic and either try and run away, or try and fight back and eat a second hit as you can swing fast. I remember breaking through people's guard really easily as well once enchanted, if you time your attack right then the fight will be over within one or two hits. I actually remember invading someone who had two Blue Phantoms with him, I managed to run past the group and and get near a red eye knight, they got distracted by the knight and I ran around behind them, I cast Poison cloud then did the strong three hit combo and took two of them down straight away, the third ate a massive hit witch basically took all his Hp and then the poison finished him a few seconds later.

The only downside from going down this path is the high requirements you need for the Blue Blood sword, I think it's 18 for each stat, then you need to pump points into luck for the extra damage. It leaves you less points to put into other skills, e.g I made mine strong in magic & defense but then had only a small amount of Hp.

Yes you can play a level with a friend but its tricky. You cant specifically invite him using smt like PSN. Just have to arrange between you where the sigil is put and at exact time even then might not work you both have to be around the same level.

Except doing this is exceptionally difficult. A friend and I have tried it so many times (Same SL) and never gotten it to work. It doesn't help that there are x amount of European servers and you aren't ever told which one you're connecting too.

I can't see me completing Demons Souls due to time pressures at the moment and with Dark Souls coming out soon; hopefully the Online aspect of Dark Souls will have proper friend type coop.

I cannot believe I missed this, the more I read about it the more I think it's my kind of game. Just ordered it, and hope to be playing before the end of the week. Any hints?

Same as you man cant beleive I missed out on this game I have been flat out reading this thread and watching videos on you tube. I had to buy this game its being dispacthed as we speak for a sweet 14 quid.

The fact thats its hard only appeals to me more. But all that sword and sheild action had me straight away.

Cant wait to get it but need to finish ME2 first :( but I am still going to put it on as soon as it comes. It looks like one of those games I have been waiting for.

Hope Im not dissapointed!!!

My copy should be arriving today cant wait.

Still cant beleive I missed the boat on this game.

you may be surprised then how busy the world still is and plenty of people leaving messages and willing to help/hinder your progress so its far from too late.

Can you turn the multiplayer part off? Rather just play against the AI enemies instead of bumping into the odd human player now and then only to kill me :)

I don't play multiplayer on any platform, prefer to be a "loner" and play single player, and it would be no different with this.

Yes, don't sign in when it asks. You can also control the world tendencies this way.

just when you think you're "hard" in this game, character is leveled up in the 100's have reasonable combat skills and BOOOM! you're dead lol was farming a pure black 2-1/2-2 for chunks of hardrock and the miners somehow all got around me.

dying or defeating certain enemies will shift world tendancys between black/grey/white, the more you die the harder the level gets but you get more souls/item drops and different areas/passages may appear. < pretty much what the manual says.

What do you mean by world tendencies? Sorry, I don't know much bout this game, but it does interest me!

If you press start while in the game, scroll across to the one which shows the levels, some will be darker than others.
Some things in the game you can only get while the lvl is pure white or pure black.
I think there are 7 stages of tendency. Things like killing the bosses and black phantoms will shift it towards white, dying while in human form will shift it towards black.

Also, don't be put off with starting a new build.

I put about 50hrs on my first build but never really understood what was going on, got quite far and was finding it difficult so just gave up on it.

I started a new build (Royal) and went past my previous soul lvl in just over 20hrs. (close to the BBS build)

Enjoying it much more this time. Currently on NG+.

Bought this online today. Trekked round every shop in my local area and bluewater for this game and could not find it. Found it second hand but not interested, especially as it was dearer than brand new online!

Should get it Tuesday so looking forward to getting my ass handed to me on this now :)
