I have handled tarantulas but iam still terrified of house hold spiders, especially those 'my legs are 8 inches across and I can run past your feet at half the speed of light' gits

Tarantulas are kind of too bulky and furry to be scary. They are cuddly spiders.

now that is an amazing sight, looks massive and the colours are cool

She's a lovely spider. Had her for about 12 years (was given to me by a mate who gave up his collection). Very, very, very fast to the point it almost teleports when it wants to get somewhere in a hurry. Quite bitey too, so definitely not one to handle, especially as the bite is amongst the worst there is from a tarantula.

Wait wut? I thought tarantulas were really fast as they hunted rather than spinnin gwebs.

I used to be obsessed with tarantulas as a kid but then there was an incident and I became hugely arachnophobic. OcUK has actually made me less scared of spiders Infact, today, I had one on my face - I would normally have freaked out - a lot, however, I as able to remain calm

Well, they are quick when they hunt obviously...But when you take it out of its tub it just slowly creeps along your hand, whereas a house spider would have a fit and run a mile...causing my girlfriend to have a mental fit and cower into a ball (probably)
