****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

I bought my S2 today for £30.67

900 Minutes
500 texts
unlimited net
free phone

Tmobile network, 24 month. I looked at three and a bunch of other networks... Three I got down to 27 for a very good deal, but found no one on network (140 people I know), so ran away scared.

Just researching insurance deals now.

More advanced customisation options over your homescreen mostly, install one and have a play. GoLauncher EX is my favourite (and it's free!) :)

Don't suppose theres any way of copying my current layout over to the new launcher home screens?

Also gave lowers opera mobile a blast, it was all well and good until I loaded flash up, then the cpu went to 50 percent or so and stayed there long after the flash was done playing. Anyone else has this problem?

Basically no. Although most of the home screen replacers (ADW/LauncherPro etc) do have the ability to backup and restore "their" configurations (for what it's worth!)

As for differences, they're much of a muchness really, but things they offer over the vanilla Android homescreen (and TouchWiz, to a degree) are:

- Resizeable widgets
- Scrollable docks
- Icon editing (text and icons)
- Varying screen transition effects
- App drawer modification (e.g. show more icons, slap on a 3D effect etc)
- Custom widgets (e.g. LauncherPro has it's own Facebook/Calendar/Twitter/Friends Stream/People widgets which are quite nice - similar to Sense)
- Various other visual tweaks!

£26 here, 24 months, 500 mins, 5000 texts and 1gb internet. Depends if you like Three or not!

I've just got my new one on TalkMobile (CPW network, runs on Vodafone network) for £150 upfront and £30 a month, but its only a 12 month contract.

That's a decent deal.

I never like paying for phones though (too poor!). I normally get them on a 2 year contract and if I feel like changing early I can sell the handset for a fair bit and buy myself an early upgrade.

In a years time I expect the Galaxy S 2 to still sell for at least £280+ which pays for the last 12 months of my contract. Saying that I kept my 3GS for 2 years as there was nothing to tempt me til now.

Does anybody else's phone get hot in the area around the bottom right of the camera as.you look at it from the back. Mine is warm even through the Samsung case.

Yeah, it'll be great in winter! :D Its just the two cores heating up. My N900 was a bit like it when I had it running on a 400mhz overclock.

Does anyone know where I can get a Tech21 case for the S2? I have emailed the company but no response yet and as usual everyone sells the iPhone versions but no more.

I have seen a lot of good reviews and video demonstrations of theses and I like the idea of the non Newtonian fluid case.
