Taken from here, this sentence clears the bonus issues up:

"DICE also clarified the situation of these pre-order bonuses, saying that Back to Karkand could be purchased with real money when it was released, while the Physical Warfare pack would be offered for free after a certain time, being just a timed exclusive for those who pre-ordered the game."

Loved that tweet directed at somebody moaning about the PS3 version not looking as good as PC. :D

I hope they give us optins for crosshair colour in the game. Its amazing how easy it is to lose your crosshair in some of the vehicles while scanning areas.

I hope everyone is remembering that BF3 will only support DX10 and 11 and not run on Windows XP and have got their upgrades planned around this?

Good kick up the backside to move over already. 7 is so much better than XP.

Using XP just seems strange now.

I was using a mate of mines computer which has xp the other day and it makes you realise how much better 7 is. 7 is much easier to use and a lot smoother. And if you are using Vista, WHY? :D

I havent seen anyone mention this yet, but I really want to see all the aircraft in a trailer, lets see some planes and helicopters in action!!! thats what I'm most excited about.

Do you reckon they'll show us the aircraft at some point?

When is open beta or demo out?

Also I hope it runs on my PC with good graphics, I've got a 3 year old rig, not sure if I'll have the money in time for upgrade before release.

Yeah but dont worry guys, that is console footage, not like that on the pc, they have dialled down the destruction on consoles.

Watch the pc version of the faultline trailer, the destruction on that wall looks to be the same. The bullets punch out big chunks just like in the ps3 version. Hopefully its just a flimsy wall....

A timed exclusive is pretty pointless. I'll just wait until it is free :)

it will almost certainly have had the destruction turned up to the 11s for the purposes of displaying in the video / on TV.

Airplanes is where we find out if this is going to be a scaled down CQB city type gunfight game or an actual full scalar warfare 'fun' simulator with a proper range for the jets to fly in

If every map is a karkand clone its not going to have much look in for jets

Open beta - Sept

3 year old hardware should be able to play it with 3 year old looking graphics. All depends if they made the game to scale properly or not, a lot of skill required I think

I dont imagine it will run any worse and look worse then GTA4 or BC2.
Biggest area people are out of date is on memory and cores needed, I think 4 on both will be minimum to say 'I can run it ok'

Less then that and its going to be a pig (lag spikes down to 10 fps walking round a corner) and/or require the lowest res possible.

I can run Arrowhead on a 6 year old graphics card... at 640x480

Ok, I'll be getting this on the xbox but I am tempted by the Pc version as well, what hardware is due between now and release? I need a Pc upgrade (q6600 and 5800gtx most liken won't cut this at 1920 1200) is it worth waiting till release to upgrade? Or even shortly after. Xbox version will see me over till a good upgrade window. And a new Pc for one game while appealing is a big outlay considering 90% of my friends all play xbox now.

Your Q6600 should be fine if the game is optimised for quads which I assume it will be, maybe you will want to look into giving it a small OC or something...a 5800GTX? What's that? ATi or an old NVIDIA from the 5 series?

Just get a new card, make sure you have at least 4gb ram and I am pretty sure you will be quite alright for BF3 and any other game...something like a GTX 460 or 5850 minimu
