AMD Catalyst 11.6 WHQL (8.861 May 24) - Download & Discussion

I had serious problems with corruption and crashing in DiRT 3 with 11.5b. I'm yet to test 11.6, but I'll report back when I have.

Installed these and after launching Dungeon Siege 3 and The Witcher 2 I was greeted with transparent world syndrome followed closely by a BSOD =/. Going to do a clean reinstall of them and see if that helps. If not, back to hotfixed 11.5 for me it is.

Anyone have an alternative download site? Can't seem to download these, looks like there is a problem with the server. Cheers.

Is it best to disable afterburner before installing these ?
Will they mess with my unofficial overclock clocks when afterburner is back up ?

Using 11.6, xfire is working ok for me, no problems.

Tried updating xfire, as soon as I install 11.6, xfire wanted to update, maybe just a coincidence.

Try reinstalling 11.6, or if you have Steam let that install the 11.6's.

is anyone getting screen tear in videos with these? just done a fresh install of win7 and am getting a horizontal lines that moves slowly down the screen.

looks like its a eyefinity issue, i had the tearing on middle and right screen, ive just taken the middle monitor lead out and put the dvi end in the card and the hdmi end in the monitor, re did the eyefinity group and now the tearing travels upwards and is only on the left screen.

update: the setting "preferred display" dictates which screen/s gets the tearing.

update well its not just video, it even when i slide a window onto the effected monitor. here is a old youtube vid.

Fixed the link.

Got the same problem with these that I had with 11.5, which doesn't happen in 11.4 - that is when I alt-tab or quit from Eve Online (haven't tried other games yet) I get a "Driver has stopped responding" error. It doesn't happen during the normal course of gameplay, just when alt-tabbing, quitting, etc.

Really irritating! Any thoughts?

Tried doing a driver sweep then reinstalling?

Its a bug that's effects some people.
I sometimes get it Alt-tab but i never get it when quitting but i play 4960x1600 windowed mode most of the time now so don't get the problem at all..

Nope, it's a simple case of installing these new drivers straight on top of the old ones. Thats what they were designed to do.

ATI Drivers are cobbled, not designed. :P

The number of times I've installed over the top, then had to uninstall and reinstall due to issues is daft. (Well, 3 times in the last year).

Not had to do that in the last year at all with Installing over the top of official drivers, its only been the beta's that have given issues if doing that.
